Storyboard Artist

Onward Search is seeking a Storyboard Artist for a leading tech company innovating in public safety. This remote, full-time contract role in Los Angeles, California, starts November 2025 for approximately 2-3 months. The artist will collaborate with a Game Designer and VR Art Director to create immersive, narrative-driven VR experiences through compelling visual storytelling, helping shape the creative vision for groundbreaking virtual reality projects.

Must Have

• Illustrate dynamic, expressive VR storyboards that showcase strong posing, composition, and cinematic pacing.
• Build animatics in Adobe After Effects to communicate sequence, timing, and mood.
• Work closely with game and narrative teams to visualize key gameplay and story beats.
• Iterate quickly on ideas and deliver visual explorations based on team feedback.
• Strong drawing and sketching abilities, especially in gesture, emotion, and composition.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and take initiative with minimal supervision.
• A self-starter mindset — organized, communicative, and accountable.
• Proficiency in After Effects for animatic creation.
• Experience collaborating with cross-disciplinary creative teams.

Good to Have

• Contribute to world-building through 2D and/or 3D concept art (if applicable).
• Background in 2D/3D Concept Art (preferred).
• Familiarity with interactive storytelling, games, or immersive media (preferred).
