CAE X SIMCOM is offering a unique on-call Supporting Crew Member (SCM) program in Orlando, Florida. The SCM will provide 'right seat support' for clients attending FAA approved training courses. This role involves fulfilling the 'Pilot Monitoring' role during Flight Simulator training, attending all training event elements, maintaining professional conduct, and completing necessary forms. It's ideal for aspiring aviation students or experienced pilots seeking to remain in the cockpit without extensive travel.
Must Have
- Commercial Pilot or Airline Transport Pilot certificate
- Airplane Multi-Engine Land (MEL)
- Instrument rating airplane multi-engine land
- 50 hours of multi-engine and instrument experience
- 400 hours Total Time
- Live within the Orlando area
- Commit 10-15 days of work a month
- Available for a minimum of 35 events in a 12-month period
- Fulfill the "Pilot Monitoring" role during Flight Simulator training
- Attend all elements of the training event
- Maintain professional conduct with clients and instructors
- Complete necessary forms and checklists

About This Role
CAE X SIMCOM- The leader in Aviation training is offering a unique opportunity in our Orlando, Florida location through its Supporting Crew Member (SCM) program.
The SCM program is designed to train and qualify program members to provide “right seat support” for our clients attending FAA approved 14 CFR 142 and authorized contract training 14 CFR 135 curriculum courses at our facilities. We seek local candidates for our Orlando location for this on-call SCM position.
Qualifications:
- Commercial Pilot or Airline Transport Pilot certificate
- Airplane Multi-Engine Land (MEL)
- Instrument rating airplane multi-engine land, with 50 hours of multi-engine and instrument experience
- 400 hours Total Time (100 hours of turbine, preferred)
- Available for a minimum of 35 events in a 12-month period to stay current and receive recurrent training
- Must live within the Orlando area
- Must be able to commit 10-15 days of work a month
- Scheduling is at a minimum of 4 hours at a time and could be scheduled 24/7

Job Description
INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTOR - Fulfills the “Pilot Monitoring” role during Flight Simulator training. Attends all elements of the training event to support client’s training and learning experience, including pre-flight and post flight briefings. Maintains professional conduct in all interactions with clients and instructors. Completes necessary forms and checklists as required for pilot monitoring role.
Incumbent in this role would generally works on simple and defined unskilled tasks requiring limited judgment. Position requires basic skills and little to no prior work experience.
