Job Summary

Valeo is seeking a System Architect to design and define next-generation automotive sensor systems, including front cameras, ultrasonic, and environmental sensors. This role involves reviewing customer and internal requirements, defining system interfaces, developing technical architecture using SysML, and coordinating development with hardware and mechatronic teams. The architect will also ensure system performance, support testing, analyze validation results, and manage task progress and technical risks.

Must Have

  • Review customer requirements, internal requirements and other technical specifications
  • Define system interfaces and develop the technical architecture for multiple sensor solutions
  • Create system architecture models using SysML
  • Coordinate the development of the system with all involved stakeholders
  • Participate on design reviews and prepare the technical documentation
  • Review the system and validation specification
  • Support engineering disciplines tests, design simulations or coding
  • Analyze validation results and propose improvements or corrective actions
  • Record and evaluate data traces to identify root causes of system issues
  • Report the progress of your tasks
  • Identify and escalate technical risks when necessary
  • Deliver clear and complete architectural design documentation

We are looking for a System Architect to help design and define the next generation of automotive sensor systems. In this role, you will work with various sensors such as front cameras, ultrasonic sensors, and environmental sensors (rain, light, temperature, humidity) and contribute to advanced driver-assistance and autonomous driving technologies.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Lead the design while you…

  • Review customer requirements, internal requirements and other technical specifications
  • Discuss and align technical details with customers for different sensor products
  • Define system interfaces and develop the technical architecture for multiple sensor solutions
  • Create system architecture models using SysML
  • Coordinate the development of the system with all involved stakeholders including hardware and mechatronic teams
  • Participate on design reviews and prepare the technical documentation

When ensuring the system meets the requested performance, you may….

  • Review the system and validation specification
  • Support engineering disciplines tests, design simulations or coding
  • Follow engineering processes and design rules
  • Analyze validation results and propose improvements or corrective actions
  • Record and evaluate data traces to identify root causes of system issues

ABOUT YOU

  • University degree in Cybernetics, Robotics, Computer Science, Vehicle Electronics, ITS, System Engineering, ADAS, or a similar field
  • Min. 3+ years of experience with vehicle systems, software, or electronic product architecture development
  • Basic understanding of SysML or another system modelling language
  • Basic programming knowledge (e.g., Python, C/C++)
  • Basic familiarity with Matlab / Simulink
  • Good level of English (spoken and written) for communication in an international environment
  • Strong interest in automotive, autonomous driving, smart sensing or computer vision
  • Proactive, detail-oriented engineer with a collaborative mindset and passion for innovation
  • You enjoy solving technical challenges and solve problems
