Job Description

A Test Director (TD) shall provide the testing and evaluation of Military Single or Multi-Engine Fixed-Wing aircraft for the design, development, production, test, and sell-off of simulation training devices. A Test Director builds, leads, and executes system test plans to evaluate program requirements that have been verified and validated prior to customer acceptance. This role supports R&D activities, plans and participates in meetings, develops testing requirements for customer reviews, and contributes to new business efforts including Training Task Analysis, Training Media Analysis, Technical Specification reviews, and RFP responses. The Test Director will lead all test activities with internal teams and customers, ensuring a clear understanding of program requirements.
Good To Have:
  • Instructor/Standardization Pilot and/or Maintenance Test/Functional Check Flight Pilot qualification
  • Military fast jet aviation experience
  • Tactical Air Controller experience
  • Ability to apply aviation/technical knowledge to troubleshoot simulated or actual aircraft systems during device testing and development
  • Ability to assist in isolating and troubleshooting faults
Must Have:
  • Act as Test Director for military aviation simulation programs
  • Develop Test Procedures (TP) from aircraft functionality, program requirements and derived requirements
  • Plan for and participate in meetings and reviews as subject matter expert for assigned programs
  • Lead all test activities with both internal and with the customer
  • Command a clear understanding of all requirements for assigned program
  • 5 years of operational military aviation experience (may be waived for candidates with 5+ years aircraft, simulation, or technical experience)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field (may be waived for candidate with 5+ years flight, technical, simulation, or mechanical background)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Excellent communication and leadership qualities
  • Eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance
  • Microsoft Office product proficiency
  • Analytical/technical skills
  • Ability to learn and operate a flight simulation device

Summary

A Test Director (TD) shall provide the testing and evaluation of Military Single or Multi-Engine Fixed-Wing aircraft for the design, development, production, test, and sell-off of simulation training devices. A Test Director builds, leads, and executes system test plans to evaluate program requirements that have been verified and validated prior to customer acceptance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as Test Director for military aviation simulation programs.
  • Program Support of R&D activities.
  • Ability to develop Test Procedures (TP) from aircraft functionality, program requirements and derived requirements.
  • Plan for and participate in meetings and reviews as subject matter expert for assigned programs. Meetings and reviews may include:
  • Conduct Program Team Meetings.
  • Support of Internal Program Reviews.
  • Develop testing requirements for Customer Reviews (Author, coordinate, and lead presentations of formal reviews with customers as required by assigned program).
  • Participate in new business efforts. Duties associated with new business include:
  • Training Task Analysis
  • Training Media Analysis
  • Technical Specification reviews
  • Responses to Request for Proposal (RFP)
  • Provide support for Program Managers as required.
  • The ability to be able to lead all test activities with both internal and with the customer.
  • Command a clear understanding of all requirements for assigned program.
  • Support to marketing for prospective program
  • Operational input during the proposal stage for program

Basic Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 5 years of operational military aviation experience
  • May be waived for candidates with 5+ years aircraft, simulation, or technical experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field
  • May be waived for candidate with 5+ years flight, technical, simulation, or mechanical background.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. All communications must be in English.
  • Must have excellent communication and leadership qualities in order to support Engineering, Customers, or Operations Staff
  • Must possess or be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
  • Microsoft Office product proficiency required.
  • Analytical/technical skills are required.
  • The ability to learn and operate a flight simulation device.

Preferred Skills

  • Instructor/Standardization Pilot and/or Maintenance Test/Functional Check Flight Pilot qualification.
  • Military fast jet aviation experience is a plus.
  • Tactical Air Controller experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to apply aviation/technical knowledge to troubleshoot simulated or actual aircraft systems during device testing and development.
  • Ability to assist in isolating and troubleshooting faults.

Security Responsibilities

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Work Environment

  • This is not a remote position. The primary work location is in Arlington, Texas.
  • This is required to be a full-time position and is not available to be or become part-time.
  • Will be required to sit down for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to climb stairs to enter and exit a simulator, and enter simulator cockpit which can include restrictive spaces
  • Must be able to travel extensively to CONUS and to OCONUS sites for extended periods to support program work
  • Routine travel required supporting site modifications and installs (up to 50%)
  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Moderate levels of work stress associated with technical, schedule, and customer issues are to be expected with this position.
  • Extended work hours and occasional 2nd or 3rd shift assignments can be encountered.
