Job Description

As a Trainee in Research Publications at Springer Fachmedien Wiesbaden/Springer VS Humanities, you will be involved in expanding the research publications editorial department. You will support and later independently manage various book projects across different subject areas, coordinate internal processes, and communicate with authors. The role also involves systematic acquisition, program presentation, and contributing to future-oriented tools for author support. This position is full-time, based in Wiesbaden, and operates under a hybrid work model.

  • Support and later take over the management of a variety of book projects and types across different subject areas (dissertations, habilitation theses, monographs, edited volumes)
  • Department-wide coordination and control of internal processes between editorial, project management, and production
  • Systematic acquisition and negotiation, oriented and building on a data-driven approach
  • Communication with authors and editors
  • Presentation of the program in webinars or at conferences
  • Collaboration on and organization of future-oriented tools to support authors (e.g., Submission Portal, AI Book Designer, automated translation software, etc.)
  • Completed university degree in social sciences or humanities
  • High degree of communicative and social competence
  • Native speaker level German language skills with good expression
  • Very good English skills
  • Online affinity and interest in digitalization tools
  • Independent and well-organized, cooperative working style

Trainee Research Publications

In the Research Publications department at Springer Fachmedien Wiesbaden/Springer VS Humanities, we publish academic qualification theses and edited volumes from the fields of technology, economics, natural sciences, medicine, psychology, law, as well as social sciences and humanities.

About the position:

As a trainee, you will be involved from the start in expanding the research publications editorial department – initially with our support, then increasingly independently, thus complementing our dynamic team. In parallel, your work will be accompanied by a tailored trainee program.

Your tasks:
