Job Summary
Rebellion is seeking a Web Development Intern to join their team, focusing on expanding the company's digital presence across gaming, publishing, film, media, and entertainment. The intern will contribute to a live web project, support website maintenance, assist in creating campaign materials, and participate in testing. This role offers exposure to modern web design, UX, development, infrastructure as code, content management, agile methodologies, SEO, analytics, and e-commerce platforms.

This opportunity is open exclusively to undergraduate students from Wadham and St John’s Colleges at the University of Oxford. Applicants must be available from 6 July to 28 August, with applications due by Sunday, 18 January.
For 30 years we’ve been independently developing and publishing incredible video games at our multiple studios founded by Jason & Chris Kingsley, but Rebellion is more than just games. We have our own film studio, we create board games, publish books, and through 2000AD, publish comics and graphic novels such as the amazing Judge Dredd.
About the role:
At the heart of our strategy lies the power to expand on our achievements as the UK's premier independent games developer and publisher. We are dedicated to connecting with new audiences and boosting visibility for all of Rebellion's standout franchises across the realms of gaming, publishing, film, media, and entertainment. This involves effectively cross monetizing our intellectual property and content through various digital platforms while showcasing our award-winning brands.
Our Web Development team plays a crucial role in driving this strategy through our web and eCommerce channels, focusing on key objectives such as enhancing brand recognition, fostering audience engagement, ensuring seamless product delivery, and exemplifying service excellence.
What you will do
- Become an active member of the web team, participating in daily stand-ups, planning sessions, scrum ceremonies and team discussions.
- Contribute to a live web project, by developing new skills and building on, or utilising, those you already have.
- Support updates and maintenance across our websites, apps, and e-commerce platforms.
- Assist in creating engaging campaign materials, landing pages, and product offers.
- Take part in testing and feedback cycles to ensure the highest quality user experience.
- Collaborate with other members of the web team, digital marketing and e-commerce teams to support product releases and customer engagement.
What you will learn
- The fundamentals of modern web design, user experience, development, infrastructure as code, and content management in a commercial setting.
- How agile working supports creative problem-solving and efficient delivery across a varied portfolio of tasks.
- Key principles of SEO, analytics, and performance tracking used across global digital campaigns.
