Tesla is seeking an experienced Tooling Engineer for forming tools to support the development, maintenance, and optimization of tools in the plate cutting line, tandem line, and transfer line. Responsibilities include monitoring and improving production tools, supporting the design and acceptance of new tool sets, implementing engineering change orders (ECOs) and die modification requests (DMRs), developing standard spare parts catalogs, collaborating with global teams and suppliers, analyzing tool downtime and quality issues, and implementing solutions to reduce MTTF/MTTR and improve component quality. The role requires a strong background in large-scale tool manufacturing, preferably in the automotive industry, and proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA V5), AUTOFORM R6, and CNC programming.
