Calix is seeking an experienced AVP Sales Engineering, Strategic Accounts to lead a high-performing pre-sales Solutions Engineering team. This role involves driving record sales growth and customer success by developing, coaching, and guiding the team in supporting strategic customer sales pursuits. The AVP will ensure alignment with sales strategy, engage in critical opportunities, and possess expertise in complex solution development and technical value selling to Tier 1, 2, and MSO broadband service providers. Key technologies include cloud platform software, agentic AI, WiFi, and access networking.
Must Have:
  • 7+ years proven Sales Engineering or technical presales leadership experience.
  • CxO level experience in technically selling software and hardware solutions to Broadband Service Providers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset.
  • Successful track record of guiding teams to achieve sales targets.
  • Expertise in integrating AI into cloud and enterprise solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel and valid Driver's License.
  • Experience with cloud platform software, agentic AI, WiFi, access networking, systems integration, security, RDK-B, and PRPL.

We are seeking an experienced Sales Engineering executive to lead a high performing pre-sales Solutions Engineering team to year-over-year record sales growth and customer success. This role will be responsible to develop, coach, mentor and guide a high performing team supporting sales pursuits in both new and existing strategic customers, ensure interlock with sales strategy, and engage directly in must win opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional expertise leading teams in complex solution development, and technical value selling into Tier 1, 2, and MSO broadband service provider companies. Technologies include cloud platform software, agentic AI, WiFi, access networking, systems integration, and evolving requirements in security and standards such as RDK-B and PRPL. This role requires an enterprise level understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within this sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop strong, trusted customer relationships as a field technology leader which enables you to influence the customer’s engineering to align with the Calix platform.
  • Lead and manage a team of Sales Engineering professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve sales targets.
  • Foster a culture of innovation within the team, encouraging the exploration of new technologies and approaches to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Articulate complex technical concepts in a clear and compelling manner to secure customer commitments and foster long-term partnerships.
  • Oversee and lead architecture discussions on how a customer technically integrates and operates an agentic AI and or cloud instance with their IT Infrastructure.
  • Oversee strategy in systems and hardware solution efforts in Access and WiFi.
  • Stay at the forefront of AI, cloud, hardware, and systems advancements to ensure solutions meet current demands and anticipate future trends.
  • Commit to continuous learning and adaptation, ensuring the team remains agile and responsive in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver transformative solutions that drive growth and success for clients.
  • Oversee the professional development of sales engineering organization, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years proven Sales Engineering or technical presales equivalent leadership experience.
  • CxO level experience in technically selling software and hardware solutions to Broadband Service Providers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset.
  • Successful track record of guiding teams to achieve sales targets.
  • Expertise in integrating AI into cloud and enterprise solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Travel required. Must have a valid Driver's License.

The on-target earnings for this position varies based on the geographic location. More information about the pay range specific to candidate location and other factors will be shared during the recruitment process. Individual pay is determined based on location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
