Job Description

The Industrialization Manager role at Thales, located in La Ferté Saint Aubin, involves contributing to new product development by ensuring manufacturability from early phases. Key responsibilities include defining and optimizing production processes and tools, drafting equipment specifications, participating in industrial means meetings, ensuring feasibility and reproducibility of manufactured elements, contributing to cost objectives, and providing technical support to users. The position is within the Industrial Competence Center, focusing on architectural choices, test strategies, product maturity, and cost reduction.
Must Have:
  • Contribute to the development of new products to ensure their manufacturability from early development phases.
  • Guarantee the definition, implementation, and optimization of production processes and tools.
  • Draft equipment requirement specifications and participate in developing their terms of reference.
  • Participate in industrial means advancement meetings.
  • Guarantee the feasibility and reproducibility of manufactured elements.
  • Contribute to the elaboration of cost objectives early in the process and ensure their adherence.

  • Engineer or equivalent background with initial industrial experience.

Your daily life

Within the Tactical Vehicles and Systems activity, the La Ferté Saint Aubin site specializes in the production of land and airborne weapon systems (mortars, ammunition, rockets, etc.), force protection systems, and zone control. With its 450 employees, engineers, technicians, and specialized workers, the La Ferté Saint Aubin site ensures research and development, production, testing, as well as all the "support" functions necessary for the design of high-performance systems essential to the success of operational missions. Thales has formed, with the German defense group DIEHL, a Joint-Venture "JUNGHANS T2M" which has 165 employees, allowing the two companies to combine their electronic and precision mechanics skills and thus become one of the world leaders in the field of munition fuses. This Joint-Venture is also present on the La Ferté Saint Aubin site.

WHAT WE CAN ACCOMPLISH TOGETHER:

Attached to the Industrial Competence Center, you will join the Industrialization team. Under the responsibility of Jean-Philippe, you will be responsible for proposing architectural choices, test strategies, product maturity, and cost reduction from the upstream phases of development.

On a daily basis, your missions will include:

  • Contributing to the development of new products to take into account their manufacturing and ensure their manufacturability according to the different development phases (especially from the prototype phases);
  • Guaranteeing the definition, implementation, and optimization of production processes and tools;
  • Drafting equipment requirement specifications and participating in the elaboration of their terms of reference with the Industrial Means department;
  • Participating in industrial means advancement meetings;
  • Guaranteeing the feasibility and reproducibility of manufactured elements;
  • Contributing to the elaboration of cost objectives as early as possible in the process and ensuring their adherence;
  • Contributing to the capitalization and feedback of production lines;
  • Guaranteeing production launch and being reactive in providing technical support to users.
