Job Description

Philips is seeking a People Partner ANZ to provide expert HR guidance and support to People Leader Partners, People Leaders, and the PPS team on HR-related matters. This individual contributor role, based in North Ryde, Sydney, focuses on ensuring alignment with local labor laws and organizational policies, delivering high-quality HR services, and driving employee relations strategies to foster stability and enhance employee experience. The role involves advising on complex employee relations, transformations, local labor law compliance, performance improvement, disciplinary cases, and rewards-related questions, engaging with the Country Leadership Team and external institutions.
Must Have:
  • Act as primary advisor for People leaders on complex and high-risk employee relations matters.
  • Advise Country Leaders on employee issues during crisis or transformation.
  • Deliver professional guidance on transformations (footprint/restructuring) from local/legal perspective.
  • Responsible for local execution on mergers, acquisitions, divestments, and reorganizations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in local ANZ labor law application and compliance.
  • Provide professional advice on performance improvement plans.
  • Handle disciplinary and grievance cases, ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution.
  • Conduct and support investigations related to General Business Principles.
  • Address and provide advisory support on rewards-related questions.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR and government policies and practices.
  • Monitor adherence to local labor laws, escalating potential risks.
  • Drive standardization in the execution of People Function policies and processes.
  • Bachelor's / master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent.
  • At least 8 years of expertise in HR processes, employee relations, labor relations for Australia and New Zealand.
  • Solid understanding of HR practices, employment law, payroll, HR admin, reporting, and audit processes.
  • Experience in directly supporting people managers.
  • A solutions-focused approach, well-developed business acumen.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Your Opportunity

We are seeking a People Partner ANZ to join our head office for ANZ based in North Ryde. This is an individual contributor position, reporting to the People Partner Lead for APAC & Japan, based in Singapore.

As the People Partner ANZ you will play a critical role in providing expert guidance and professional support to People Leader Partners, People Leaders, and the PPS team on HR-related matters.

This role ensures alignment with local labor laws and organizational policies, while delivering consistent, high-quality HR services. A key focus is driving employee relations strategies that foster organizational stability and enhance the employee experience.

As a representative of the People function, this role engages with the Country Leadership Team and relevant external institutions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the primary advisor for People leaders on complex and high-risk employee relations matters, ensuring outcomes align with organizational goals, legal compliance, and employee well-being.
  • Advising Country Leaders on employee issues during period of crisis or transformation and execute Crisis Management Team decisions related to people matters within the country.
  • Deliver professional guidance and advice to People Leaders and/or People Leader Partners on transformations (footprint/restructuring) from local/legal perspective and is responsible for the local execution on mergers, acquisitions, divestments, and reorganizations affecting local teams.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in local ANZ labor law application and compliance, advising People Leaders on hosted headcount and cross-border employment issue based on international mobility advice.
  • Provide professional advice on performance improvement plans ensuring adherence to local policies and best practices.
  • Handle disciplinary and grievance cases, ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution with fairness and consistency.
  • Conduct and support investigations related to the General Business Principles.
  • Address and provide advisory support on rewards-related questions ensuring alignment with local guidelines and internal equity.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR and government policies and practices across the organization as well as monitor adherence to local labor laws, escalating potential risks to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Drives standardization in the execution of People Function policies and processes, ensuring consistent application and compliance across the country to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

You’re the right if:

  • You have Bachelor's / master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated expertise of at least 8 years in HR processes, employee relations, labor relations preferably in a multinational or highly regulated environment for Australia and New Zealand.
  • You will bring a solid understanding of HR practices, including employment law and regulation, supporting Payroll, HR administrative tasks, reporting and audit processes.
  • You have experience in directly supporting people managers.
  • A solutions-focused approach, well-developed business acumen and able to deal with issues and change in a proactive, positive and dynamic way.
  • You will have excellent stakeholder management, communication skills and ability to adapt to changing circumstances, direction and strategy as well as manage multiple priorities.
