Senior Architect - Echtra Games, ARPG (Unreal Engine 5)

POSITION OVERVIEW

Echtra Games is looking for an exceptional Senior Software Architect to join the team and help craft Echtra’s next exciting cross-platform AAA ARPG game. Do you love gameplay systems? Do you have deep expertise in Unreal Engine 5? Are you the sort of person who sweats the details and demands the best?

We are looking for a top-tier gameplay engineer to tackle tough projects, keep our build tight, and maintain gameplay standards. You must have familiarity with the gameplay systems that are required to build ARPGs, an unquenchable desire to create, and strong knowledge of working with Unreal. You are detail oriented and can work well both on your own and with a team.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understand game designs and systems, and make them a reality.
• Collaborate with other engineers, designers, and artists to craft a great gameplay experience.
• Use your knowledge of the game’s design to ensure systems and designs are faithfully and completely implemented in the game.
• Take personal responsibility for the gameplay experience and quality of game builds.
• Assign and delegate where appropriate.

REQUIREMENTS

• Experience shipping several large games, including multiple in Unreal.
• Experience owning large gameplay systems from implementation to shipping.
• Strong knowledge of C++

This is a fully remote role that may be based anywhere in the United States. Below are the expected salary and wage ranges for applicants based in locations where the pay transparency law is in effect:

Colorado: $100,000 and $170,000 per year

California: $125,000 and $220,000 per year

New York State (inclusive of New York City): $125,000 and $220,000 per year

Washington: $108,000 and $190,000 per year

Base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees will also receive 16 paid holidays per calendar year, unlimited discretionary time off, and will receive up to 6.5 sick days per calendar year.
