The Tools and Technology Team within STG is looking for accomplished people to help us fulfill our mission of providing creative tools and workflows that allow EA to lead the industry in content quality. Our group strives to build an ecosystem of modular components that are efficient, adjustable to trends, and allow for quick iteration of any artistic idea into reality. We partner with a global group of extraordinary creatives fueled by imagination and a unified passion for creating amazing content and experiences.

The challenge ahead:

As a Technical Artist, you will work alongside our Worlds Team with the support of a Product Owner and Technical Director. You will be working on designing, developing, extending, and supporting custom tools for a variety of content creation workflows. You will also support a variety of EA’s crucial content tools with the support of an amazing development team. You will report to a Development Director.

Day to day you will ...

  • Work with partners (i.e. artists and engineers) to develop user-friendly tools, efficient pipelines, and optimal workflows that aid in the development and iteration of game content.

  • Gather user requirements, design, implement, debug, test, and maintain quality code.

Who you are:

  • Strong Experience with Houdini, Maya, Python, and familiarity with game engines (Unreal, Frostbite, Unity, etc.)

  • 3+ years of experience with developing content creation tools and/or workflows

  • Knowledge of content creation (e.g. modeling, shading) and software engineering best practices (e.g. design patterns, object-oriented design).

  • Experience working on a project in collaboration with a variety of roles including game teams, artists, engineers, Technical Directors and Art Directors

  • Excited to learn and apply new concepts, principles, and solutions.

Bonus, but not necessary

  • Experience with Frostbite.

  • Experience with UI development.

  • Experience using USD based workflows.

  • Experience with Git.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location. EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria): º $115,100 - $161,200 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
