Our Analytics team is responsible for all data that powers the business, from product analytics to financial and operational data. We have a hybrid approach to analytics where we enable self-service to the greatest extent possible while still offering deep dives and advanced analyses.
About the role
As a Staff Engineer, you will design and build the data pipelines and modeling infrastructure to meet the diverse analytical needs of the company. You will work closely with the Analytics team to guide the development of the analytics data platform, develop, implement, and maintain data models and pipelines, as well as support data science initiatives to provide reliable and actionable insights to various teams.
What you'll do:
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines to collect, transform, and load data from various sources, including transactional databases and third-party APIs.
- Design and maintain data models that align with business requirements and ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to build analytical solutions.
- Contribute to the architecture and technology roadmap for the analytics data platform.
- Identify and solve data-related challenges.
- Write clear, concise, and well-documented code.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve the overall quality and maintainability of the codebase.
- Mentor junior engineers.
What you should have:
- Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
- Expert level knowledge of SQL and Python.
- Experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks).
- Experience in building data pipelines and building data infrastructure.
- Experience working with large datasets and complex data transformations.
- Experience with data quality and data governance.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Bonus points:
- Experience with event-driven data architecture (e.g., Kafka).
- Experience with dbt or other data transformation tools.
- Experience with data science tools and techniques.
- Experience working in a high-growth environment.
