2D Technical Rig and Prep Supervisor to work on Rick and Morty S8

We are now on the hunt for Rick and Morty (16+ show) 2D Technical Rig & Prep Supervisor (EU Applicants willing to relocate only) who will join us in our quest to create the best possible animated content for our partners. The role is required from 15th of July 2024 and the term of this contract will be until 13th of December 2024

This role is based in our studio in Kilkenny, Ireland, unfortunately no option to Freelance.

Rick and Morty is a classified 16+ show and while the subject matter of the show is presented in a fantasy or comic context, the production may contain contextually justified strong language, references to sex, drugs, horror, threat, and/or violence of a non-gratuitous nature, which some applicants may find objectionable.  Lighthouse will always seek to reasonably accommodate those applicants with conscientious or other objections, however given the nature of both the role and subject matter, this may not always be possible. About the role

As a 2D Technical Rig and Prep Supervisor, you will supervise the building and rigging of props, occasionally character rigs and environmental elements through Toon Boom Harmony and supervise the preparation of the Toon Boom Harmony scenes for Animation, as well as troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the production.

What you'll be doing

• Supervise and guide the team creatively and technically in setting up and preparing of Harmony scene files for production, this requires a focused and detail-oriented approach.
• Keep the scene prep department on an achievable and consistent delivery schedule
• Review Rigged props in Toon Boom Harmony, occasionally reviewing character rigs and environmental elements on an achievable and consistent delivery schedule
• Collaborate with the Builds & Rigging Supervisor and with all other departments (Background, Animation, FX and Compositing) on issues related to scene set-up/Rigged assets.
  
• Assume primary responsibility for the technical performance of your team
• Assist your team to work to an assigned schedule and weekly output quota
  
• Attend meetings relating to identifying and resolving technical issues with shot files
• Collaborate with the Technical Director, IT and Pipeline departments to troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues relating to your assigned scenes, at any stage in the pipeline.
  
• Provide notes and feedback to the team when needed to ensure retakes are completed on schedule.
• Attend all meetings required by the production
• Address any problems with Production Manager and Line Producer
• Be available on messaging systems and by emails during working hours

What we're looking for

• At least 2 years of experience working as a Scene prep and Rigging Supervisor
• Expert knowledge in Toon Boom Harmony Premium is essential

• Basics knowledge of Photoshop
• Experience using Shotgrid/Flow is considered a plus
  
• Be driven and able to work effectively on an independent basis

• Fluent in English
• Ability to communicate well in a fast-paced and creative environment
• Must possess excellent time management skills with the utmost respect for deadlines
• Must be willing to relocate to Kilkenny
