Job Summary

As an Assistant Instructor at the Navy Synthetic Warfighting Centre (NSWC) for CAE, you will deliver advanced tactical training and support synthetic warfare training events for the Royal Australian Navy. Key responsibilities include managing simulator databases, designing scenarios, configuring combat system trainers, providing simulation support by emulating aircraft and vessel actions, and assisting with system operability testing. This role contributes to equipping people in critical roles with expertise for a safer world.

Must Have

  • Deliver Advanced Tactical Training programs and classroom-based lessons.
  • Manage simulator databases, scenario design, and execution plans.
  • Configure combat system trainers and voice communication circuits for synthetic events.
  • Provide simulation support by emulating actions of aircraft and vessels in a synthetic environment.
  • Assist with system operability testing and maintaining simulation control room state boards.
  • Vocational or technical degree with 5–8 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with Naval Combat Management Systems (AEGIS and 9LV preferred).
  • Strong understanding of RAN operational structure, warfighting principles, and doctrine.
  • Experience with ADF operations and exercise requirements (minimum 5 years).

Good to Have

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Background in roles such as Surveillance Control Officer, Fighter Controller, Air Combat Officer, or similar Defence positions.

The Role We Are Offering You

As an Assistant Instructor at the Navy Synthetic Warfighting Centre (NSWC), you will play a key role in delivering advanced tactical training and supporting synthetic warfare training events for the Royal Australian Navy. Your responsibilities will include:

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

Essential:

  • Vocational or technical degree with 5–8 years of relevant experience.
