Job Summary
SIMCOM is seeking an Instructor Pilot to deliver ground school and simulator training for Initial, Recurrent, or specialty courses. The role involves providing standardized training for various events like Captain Upgrades and PIC/SIC Evaluations, enforcing company standards, and evaluating customer progress. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, maintain accurate records, and act as a liaison between customers and management. Occasional travel may be required.
Must Have
- Provide standardized training in classroom and/or simulator for various events
- Enforce company standards for service and safety
- Possess strong interpersonal, verbal/written, listening, and presentation skills
- Properly judge and evaluate pilot performance
- Conduct ground and simulator training for Customers
- Keep accurate records, complete paperwork, and submit documents timely
- Evaluate Customers' progress in gaining skills and knowledge
- Serve as a liaison between Customers and Training Center Managers
- Maintain competency and qualifications authorized to instruct
- Maintain a high level of professionalism
- Meet Part 135 requirements
- Hold above average knowledge of applicable regulations, manuals, and aircraft systems
- Excellent fluency in English (verbal and written)
- Customer service oriented
Good to Have
- ATP certification
- Knowledge of MS Access database

About This Role
SIMCOM is currently seeking a qualified candidate as an Instructor Pilot. This position will abide by SIMCOM standards and policies. The instructor pilot will deliver ground school and simulator training during Initial, Recurrent or specialty training courses to our customers. The ideal candidate will focus on Customer progress and performance with a tailored approach to specific training that includes Lesson Planning, classroom and Simulator set-up, and upkeep of current publications and training materials. Travel might be required on an occasional basis
Duties and responsibilities:
1. As an Instructor Pilot, provide standardized training in the classroom and/or simulator(unless specifically requires the aircraft) for the following events:
- Captain Upgrades
- Initial/Recurrent training
- PIC/SIC Evaluations
- Differences Training
- Remedial Training
2. Enforce company standards by teaching and requiring others to fly by set standards of service and safety
3. Strong interpersonal, verbal/written, listening, and presentation skills are necessary to effectively teach required subjects and provide constructive feedback
4. Must possess the skills to properly judge and evaluate pilot performance and willing to accurately and impartially judge and evaluate
5. Conduct ground and simulator training for Customers at SIMCOM
6. The successful candidate must be able to keep accurate records, complete proper paperwork and submit required documents to the company in a timely manner
7. Evaluate Customers progress in gaining skills and knowledge by the standards established at SIMCOM
8. Serve as a liaison between the Customers and the Training Center Managers.
9. If authorized as TCE for SIMCOM, conduct Proficiency Checks and Certification Checks as authorized under FAR 135/142
10. Assist/Define Customers training requirements through participation in training conferences, meetings
11. Maintains competency and qualifications authorized to instruct
12. Maintains a high level of professionalism at all times
13. Performs other related duties and assignments as required
Education & Experience:
- Meet Part 135 requirements
- ATP preferred
- Successful candidate will hold an above average knowledge of: Applicable Regulations, Flight Operations Manuals, Operations Specifications, Crewmember Standard Operating Procedures, Aircraft Systems, Aircraft Performance, and Company Policies and Procedures
Skills & Abilities
- Excellent Fluency in English, through both verbal and written communications; able to speak, understand, read and write
- Must be an excellent listener and presenter in order to meet and exceed the Customer’s expectations during the training process
- General knowledge of: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Database: MS Access, preferred
- Ability to work in a team environment and support cultural diversity
- Customer service oriented
Physical environment/working conditions:
Dual environment setting: Office and Simulator. May have some light lifting required up to 30lbs. May require prolonged periods of sitting, standing or walking
