Job Summary

Capco Poland is seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to join their Financial Accounting & Reporting team. This role involves driving strategic change initiatives, improving control frameworks, and enhancing front-to-back processes across the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet lifecycle. The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Product Control or Financial Accounting, with a strong understanding of accounting standards, month-end close procedures, and market product specialization. The position requires a data-driven mindset and a focus on control and risk mitigation.

Must Have

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience within a Product Control (PC) function, Financial reporting or Financial accounting.
  • Familiarity with IAS 32/39, IFRS 7, and IFRS 9 accounting standards.
  • Proven track record in closing month-end financials for market products.
  • Experience with reconciliation between Front Office (FO) systems and Accounting Rules Engine (ARE).
  • Experience with FO to General Ledger (GL) reconciliations, journal entries, and postings.
  • Experience with management of cash breaks and nostro-vostro controls, and balance sheet substantiation.
  • Understanding of major lifecycle events of financial products and their accounting implications.
  • Strong technical accounting skills, including articulating accounting events through T-accounts.
  • Deep expertise in at least one market segment (e.g., Foreign Exchange, Debt Markets, Equities).
  • Experience as a Business Analyst within a change function or contributing to strategic change initiatives.
  • Comfortable working with complex market product datasets, deriving insights, and translating them into actionable requirements.
  • Strong focus on control and risk mitigation.

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to join Financial accounting & reporting team. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving strategic change initiatives, improving control frameworks, and enhancing front-to-back processes across the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet lifecycle.

Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on experience within a Product Control (PC) function, Financial reporting or Financial accounting with a total professional background spanning 5–10 years.

  • Accounting Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with key financial reporting standards including IAS 32/39, IFRS 7, and IFRS 9. Demonstrates understanding of business models and the corresponding accounting treatments.
  • Month-End Close Expertise: Proven track record in closing month-end financials for market products. This includes:
  • Reconciliation between Front Office (FO) systems and Accounting Rules Engine (ARE)
  • FO to General Ledger (GL) reconciliations
  • Journal entries and postings
  • Management of cash breaks and nostro-vostro controls
  • Balance sheet substantiation
  • Product Lifecycle Awareness: Understands major lifecycle events of financial products and their accounting implications.
  • Technical Accounting Skills: Strong candidates can articulate accounting events through T-accounts and engage effectively with accounting policy and implementation teams.
  • Market Product Specialization: Brings deep expertise in at least one market segment, such as:
  • Foreign Exchange (Spot, Forwards, Options)
  • Debt Markets (Rates, Credit, Structured Products)
  • Equities (Cash, Securities Lending & Borrowing, Structured Equities)
  • Change Management Experience: Has worked as a Business Analyst within a change function or contributed meaningfully to strategic change initiatives as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Data-Driven Mindset: Comfortable working with complex market product datasets, deriving insights, and translating them into actionable requirements, user stories, and discussion points.
  • Control Orientation: Promotes both functional and non-functional aspects of change, with a strong focus on control and risk mitigation.
  • Agile Methodology: Possesses a general understanding of Agile project management and demonstrates a willingness to deepen expertise in Agile practices.
