Job Summary

The Casino Services Field Technician is an autonomous role responsible for all activities at Casino and Bingo sites in the Greater Sudbury and Timmins Area. This includes preparation, installation, troubleshooting to the component/circuit level, and servicing remotely and onsite. The technician will maintain, upgrade, and convert gaming devices, provide customer training, and ensure compliance with various jurisdictions. Key duties involve performing troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation of Point of Access (POA) equipment, conducting pre-installation site assessments, and tracking activities using SAP.

Must Have

  • Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, preventive maintenance, and installation of Point of Access (POA) equipment.
  • Make pre-installation site assessments to identify parts and wiring requirements.
  • Perform all preparation tests including assurance hardware, firmware, and system interfaces.
  • Deliver and install products on customer site.
  • Install game to game and bank to bank, telephonic, ethernet, and wireless (G2G).
  • Carry out assigned portion of hardware and software conversions and upgrades.
  • Perform planned and preventative maintenance.
  • Respond to customer issues for games and system interface.
  • Perform accurate and timely tracking and reporting on activities utilizing SAP and other software tools.
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 2-4 years of experience in electronics, electro-mechanical, telecom, or computer equipment repair.
  • Experience with AC/DC fundamentals.
  • Ability to read and translate wiring diagrams.
  • Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot to component/circuit level.
  • Test programs with verification devices such as Kobetron and Chip Comparator.
  • Troubleshoot with input and output tests.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Able to obtain a Gaming License.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
  • Pass a background check.
  • Work overtime or available to work on weekends as required.
  • Able to stand for an eight-hour shift.
  • Travel within Canada and USA.

Job Description

Overview

The Casino Services Field Technician is autonomous and responsible for all activities at Casino and Bingo sites in the allocated Greater Sudbury and Timmins Area. Preparation, installation, troubleshooting to the component/circuit level. Servicing remotely and onsite with the ability diagnose and solve problems. Maintain, upgrade and convert gaming devices, while representing the company at the customer site and maintaining a positive relationship with the client. Provide initial and ongoing customer training on basic game functionality. Adapt to various jurisdictions and adhere to compliance policies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, preventive maintenance and installation of Point of Access (POA) equipment and communication devices used at the retailer location.
  • Makes pre-installation site assessments to identify parts and wiring requirements at customer location.
  • Performs all preparation tests including assurance hardware, firmware and system interfaces are accurate and functional.
  • Delivers and installs products on customer site.
  • Installs game to game and bank to bank, telephonic, ethernet and wireless (G2G).
  • Carries out assigned portion of hardware and software conversions and upgrades.
  • Performs planned and preventative maintenance.
  • Responds to customer issues for games and system interface.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required with 2-4 years of experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing electronics, electro-mechanical, telecom or computer equipment required preferable with company equipment and gaming system products.
  • Experience with AC/DC fundamentals.
  • Reading and translating wiring diagrams.
