Netflix is seeking an experienced Coordinator for its Unscripted Creative team in Mumbai to build and execute the original slate strategy for India. This role involves strategizing, identifying, and commissioning projects across documentaries, reality, and comedy. The candidate will establish partnerships with creative partners, manage project execution, and launch series/specials with internal cross-functional teams. A strong sense of narrative structure, regional sensibility, and the ability to guide projects from pitch to delivery are essential.
Must Have
- Work closely with producers, creators, writers and external creative team to develop projects
- Work with finance, legal, product, post and external production teams on establishing key schedules and workflows while optimising budgets
- Develop and foster relationships with a multitude of producing partners/third parties
- Manage and maintain various internal trackers, documents and communication
- Partner with cross-functional teams to facilitate information sharing and address incoming requests
- Handle internal workflows, maintain timely updates, and adapt to the evolving needs of the team
- 10+ years of experience in development of Indian unscripted content
- Experience leading a project from pitch/development to post launch
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
- Strong relationships with creators, production partners, and talent
- Proven communication skills in English and Hindi

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Coordinator for our Unscripted Creative team in Mumbai to help build and execute the original slate strategy for India. This role will report to the Director, Unscripted Series and requires strategising, identifying and building/commissioning projects spanning the entire nonfiction gamut of documentaries, reality, comedy and other genres. The ideal candidate should have an understanding of the unscripted landscape on TV, OTT as well as platforms like YouTube. Knowledge of global formats, new nonfiction genres, emerging trends, and the content creator business is expected.
Responsibilities will include establishing and growing strong partnerships with creative partners in the market to source and commission exciting unscripted content. The candidate will also manage the execution and launch of the series/specials working with internal cross functional partners such as Production Management, Post Production, Content Ops, VFX, Marketing and Publicity.
A successful candidate will have a strong sense of narrative structure, a regional sensibility and ability to guide a project from pitch/idea through to delivery, in keeping with the Netflix global standards of quality and storytelling. They will be self-motivated, proactive, quick-thinking, flexible, able to pivot when necessary, thorough, and able to juggle multiple and diverse responsibilities across projects at varying stages of the life cycle. At all times, an unwavering attention to creative detail is necessary.
They will have excellent problem solving skills, with the ability to think about the best solution in the best interest of the company as they arise. This is a demanding and fast moving position that requires someone who is a proactive and positive thinker, is able to exercise sensitivity, good judgment and initiative while working with a high volume production slate and a diverse range of creative/production partners.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Development/Pre Production/Setup of Show
- Work closely with producers, creators, writers and external creative team to develop projects and assess for long-term viability
- Work with finance, legal, product, post and external production teams on establishing key schedules and workflows while optimising budgets
- Develop and foster relationships with a multitude of producing partners/third parties
- Manage and maintain various internal trackers, documents and communication demonstrating ownership of these resources and operational efficiency and leadership
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Content Ops, Marketing, PR, Legal, Product) to facilitate information sharing and address incoming requests
- Handle internal workflows, maintain timely updates, and adapt to the evolving needs of the team
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in development of Indian unscripted content, and experience leading a project from pitch/development to post launch
- A genuine passion for content, with a deep commitment to making content a central part of your life and work
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
- Strong relationships with creators, production partners, and talent
- Ability to handle a fast paced environment simultaneously supervising several projects in various phases of production (from evaluation to production through delivery)
- Team-player who operates in a fast paced team-oriented setting
- Understanding of how to prioritize and respond accordingly while being an effective communicator
- Willingness to continue learning to ensure understanding of the business and slate needs
- Ability to take educated risks and think out of the box
- Proven communication skills; Must be highly articulate and professional, both in written and verbal forms of English and Hindi
