Job Summary

Philips Japan is seeking a Demand Planner for its SRC (Sleep & Respiratory Care) business unit. This role involves analyzing historical demand data, collaborating with sales and marketing, and developing accurate demand forecasts for 1-18 months. The Demand Planner will operate within a global S&OP cadence, aiming to improve forecast accuracy, optimize inventory management, enhance customer satisfaction, and contribute to increased sales and profits. Key responsibilities include creating baseline forecasts, proposing inventory reductions, and continuously improving business processes.

Must Have

  • Analyze past demand data to create baseline forecasts.
  • Develop 1-6 month demand forecast proposals from sales plans.
  • Prepare data for 7-18 month demand proposals from marketing.
  • Propose improvements to demand forecasts and reductions in stagnant inventory.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, domestic sales, and marketing.
  • Confirm inbound status for backorders and reflect accuracy in future proposals.
  • Plan and execute continuous improvements for Forecast Accuracy and inventory reduction.
  • Adjust delivery dates with multiple suppliers to ensure compliance.
  • Implement actions for cost and lead time reduction.

The SRC (Sleep & Respiratory Care) business unit is particularly responsible for the home healthcare sector, supporting patient examination, treatment, QOL improvement, and efficiency in medical settings, focusing on diagnostic and therapeutic devices for sleep apnea syndrome (SAS), neuromuscular diseases, and chronic respiratory diseases.

Job Summary

We are recruiting for a Demand Planner position responsible for demand proposals and improving/refining demand forecast accuracy based on analysis of past demand performance data and information from sales and marketing.

This is one of the important positions within SCM, operating a process in a monthly cycle in accordance with the S&OP cadence deployed globally by Global SCM, aiming to improve customer satisfaction and contribute to increased company sales and profits by improving Forecast Accuracy and managing inventory without excess or shortage.

Main Job Responsibilities

Analyze past performance data to create baseline forecasts, then create 1-6 month demand forecast proposals from sales plans, and further create data and demand forecasts that form the foundation for 7-18 month demand proposals created by marketing. Simultaneously, propose improvements to demand forecasts and suggest reductions in stagnant inventory. This directly contributes to improving customer satisfaction, company sales, and profits.

  • Confirming inbound status for backorders, checking demand forecast accuracy, and reflecting weak demand forecasts in the next demand proposal (Weekly Cycle)
  • Business improvement: Planning and executing continuous improvement proposals to enhance Forecast Accuracy and reduce inventory
  • Actions with multiple suppliers for delivery date adjustments to ensure on-time delivery
  • Actions for cost reduction and lead time reduction

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in demand planning for general consumer goods or consumer products
  • Analytical skills
  • Experience using SAP
  • Experience using Excel (including queries) and Power BI
  • Basic SCM knowledge is a plus

Education

  • University graduate (four-year university) or higher

Language

  • Japanese: Native level
  • English: Reading and writing proficiency

  • Incentives are paid annually in March (subject to change based on company performance, department performance, and individual evaluation)
