Position Overview
This talented leader will join our growing Training-as-a-Service (TaaS) Learning Services Team. The SAP Enterprise Systems Training Workstream Lead will lead training development teams, develop innovative learning solutions, and apply adult learning best practices to optimize user adoption of enterprise systems and digital technologies in our fast-paced consulting environment. This individual will also apply thought leadership to building modern training and development models, addressing both technical and professional skills competencies while leveraging best of breed training and adoption technologies.
Under the direction of a Sr. Training Lead, the Enterprise Training Lead is responsible for the following:
- Consult with Operational and Business, IT/Technical, and other relevant subject matter experts (SMEs) to assess and define the learning needs (Learning Needs Assessment) for client specific audiences
- Work with client to define curriculum review and approval process and facilitating the process through the duration of development activities
- Coordinating with client or project leadership team to ensure availability of key resources needed to provide complete work requirements.
- Manage individual training teams consisting of Instructional Designers and Training Developers (onshore and offshore) responsible for development and delivery of the training curriculum, reporting progress, escalating issues and risks accordingly, and communicating obstacles and opportunities for resolution to the appropriate stakeholders
- Provide coaching and development, team leadership, and project management for assigned work efforts
- Examine process and system documentation, then consult with the software implementation team members and subject matter experts (SMEs) to assess and define the training needs through definition of learning objectives and course curriculum paths by key user groups.
- Define training documentation and quality standards based on the given Training Documentation tools, Learning Management System, and customer requirements.
- Developing and maintaining the training work stream resource plan.
- Planning and managing development and delivery of the training curriculum, reporting progress, escalating issues and risks accordingly, and communicating obstacles and opportunities for resolution to the Project Manager/Lead.
- Provide input to ISG Training as a Service (TaaS) practice methodologies, tools and templates as well as provide feedback and lessons learned for the continuous improvement of the ISG Training practice.
Responsibilities
This position will have overall responsibility for delivery of instructional courses relating to ERP software (SAP S/4HANA, D365, Oracle, Workday, etc.) while managing a team of Training Designers to develop course materials. The resource should have significant experience working with and developing standards for multiple Training and Adoption Tools (SAP Enable Now, SAP WalkMe, Articulate, etc.) and Learning Management Systems (Cornerstone, SuccessFactors etc.). This position applies project management skills as it leads in the design, redesign, development and delivery of course materials while continuously identifying problems and recommending solutions for improvement and making recommendations to client for sustaining the delivered training content.
Responsibilities include:
- Contribute to the design and execution of training strategy, plan, and deliverables for enterprise systems, including coordination with internal and external stakeholders as needed
- Design face-to-face training, self-directed learning, and train-the-trainer guidance for all ERP-related learning needs
- Help create and manage training activity work plans that include assignment of responsibilities, estimated level of effort for team members, dependencies, and deadlines
- Manage the development of training and adoption materials and user manuals, including but not limited to instructor guides, participant guides, job aids, and in application support
- Collaborate with training team on the creation of training materials, as well as planning for Instructor-Led staff trainings
- Review of training materials and documentation by Subject Matter Experts to ensure content accuracy and consistency
- Supervise the creation of instructional videos and other online learning materials
- Create and deliver training content with a high level of cultural competency for non-native English-speaking audiences
- Manage the translation process for training materials into multiple languages as well as the updates to existing translated documents
- Speak and write effectively concerning instructional design such as writing articles for internal publications and coaching facilitators
- Build rapport with staff and clients to help increase system adoption and encourage feedback of potential improvements
Required Skillsets
- This is a remote position based in the US
- 6+ years of experience in designing and delivering instructional courses
- 4+ years of experience in software training is required
- 4+ years of experience leading enterprise systems training engagements, including conducting Training Needs Assessments and developing Enterprise Training Strategies
- Familiarity with integrating training materials into Learning Management Systems
- Ability to understand software-driven business processes
- Knowledge of fundamental business processes within ERP software, including Finance, Logistics, and Human Resources
- Experience in project management and people management
- Comprehensive understanding of instructional design principles and technologies
- Effective communication skills, particularly in writing
- Capability to work independently and remotely with Subject Matter Experts
- Ability to learn new software packages rapidly and design corresponding training
- Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely in oral, written, and online formats; competent in managing and leading presentations, training courses, and meetings
- Ability to explain technical concepts in clear terms, using appropriate corporate terminology when needed
- Experience in creating, delivering, and evaluating software training for non-native English speakers from various cultural backgrounds
- Knowledge of adult learning, instructional design, and online learning best practices for problem-solving, strategic planning, and program development, including curriculum maintenance and improvement
- Demonstrated integrity, independent thinking, judgment, and respect for others
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and work prioritization skills and attention to detail
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and experience with blended learning
- Experience developing curricula and related assessment and evaluation plans
- Ability to provide guidance to staff on training coordination and management
- Interest in international development efforts
- Knowledge of company’s main client and its operations preferred
- Ability to solve technical, managerial or operational problems and evaluate options based on relevant information, resources, well-rounded experience, and knowledge
- English fluency required
- Demonstrate leadership, versatility and integrity
- Proficiency with various training documentation and Digital Adoption Platform (DAP) tools such as WalkMe, Whatfix, and Userlane
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, training, or work experience
