Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic HR Generalist in India with an ownership mentality and a service-oriented approach. As the primary point of contact for employees in India, you will support their HR needs, ensure efficient information access, and play a critical role in onboarding new APAC hires, creating a welcoming experience in collaboration with the Global People Team, IT, and managers.
Must Have
- Own and administer the new employee experience for India and other APJ countries.
- Provide market intelligence around benefits, compensation, holidays, and HR trends.
- Maintain human resources information, audit data, prepare reports, and propose process improvements.
- Manage day-to-day administration of benefits, payroll, and other HR systems.
- Act as a trusted resource to employees on HR areas, including policy interpretation and benefits.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to employee management and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Conduct weekly meetings with respective business units/locations and provide information and feedback to the Director of HR.
- Work closely with the Director of HR to manage and resolve complex employee relations issues.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Gather and analyze HR metrics to inform business decisions.
- Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
Good to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR or local equivalent).

As the HR Generalist for India, you will be the primary point of contact for our employees in the region, supporting their HR needs and ensuring they have the information required to do their jobs efficiently. You will play a critical role in onboarding new APAC hires, creating a red carpet welcome experience, and collaborating closely with the Global People Team, IT, managers, and new hires to ensure everyone is welcomed into the SingleStore family and enabled to be successful.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Own and administer the new employee experience by creating a red carpet welcome for new hires across India and other APJ countries.
- Provide market intelligence around benefits, compensation, holidays, and other HR trends in the region. Collaborate with our Senior Talent Partner to support annual benefits renewal.
- Maintain human resources information, audit data, prepare reports, and propose business process improvements and automation.
- Communicate recommendations on initiatives through data and thoughtful interpretation of survey findings.
- Manage day-to-day administration of benefits, payroll, and other HR systems.
- Act as a trusted resource to employees on a wide variety of HR areas, including policy interpretation and benefits.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with the Director of HR and Legal departments as needed.
- Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Conduct weekly meetings with respective business units/locations and provide information and feedback to the Director of HR.
- Work closely with the Director of HR to manage and resolve complex employee relations issues.
- Support talent acquisition and recruitment processes as needed.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Gather and analyze HR metrics to inform business decisions.
- Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in a startup or high-growth tech environment.
- Service-minded with a high level of professionalism and integrity.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with total discretion.
- Solution-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Understanding of various HR functional areas, including onboarding, compensation/benefits, and employee relations.
- Prior experience with processing India payroll, leave management, and benefits.
- Understanding of HR compliance and Indian labor laws.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust within the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and HR technology platforms.
- Experience supporting remote and distributed teams across multiple time zones.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR or local equivalent) is a plus.
