Job Summary

Veolia, a global leader in environmental services, is seeking a Production/Maintenance Manager for its Mineral Waste division site in Bellegarde (30). This role involves overseeing the Production and Maintenance services, managing a team of approximately 20 people, optimizing operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and contributing to financial management. The manager will be responsible for the functioning of all site equipment, planning maintenance, and ensuring safety and environmental rules are applied.

Must Have

  • Organize, control, and optimize team work within a regulatory framework.
  • Supervise the organization and functioning of site Production and Maintenance.
  • Ensure the operation of all site equipment (plant, machinery, effluents, general services).
  • Plan and monitor maintenance operations.
  • Ensure compliance and traceability of treated waste.
  • Contribute to the development of the provisional budget for production and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure safety, hygiene, and environmental rules are applied.
  • Manage relations with external service providers.
  • Bac+5 engineering degree (generalist or Process/Chemistry).
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in team management on an industrial production site.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Technical knowledge in electricity, fluidics, mechanics, and automation.
  • Knowledge of regulations related to waste activities and ICPE.
  • Strong team leadership skills and sense of priorities.
  • Autonomous and precise with initiative.

Good to Have

  • Good knowledge in Mineral Chemistry.

Job Description

The Mineral Waste division specializes in the Treatment, Storage of Hazardous Mineral Waste, and Remediation of polluted sites and soils.

Our Bellegarde (30) site, a major player in the storage of hazardous/non-hazardous waste and treatment of polluted soils, has a capacity of 400,000 tons/year.

Reporting to the Site Director, you will be in charge of the Production department (hazardous waste treatment unit) as well as the Site Maintenance department (approximately 20 people).

1. Organize, control, optimize team work within a regulatory framework:

  • Organize and monitor team work in 2 day shifts for Production activity and day shift for Maintenance (work schedules, holiday organization, ensuring on-call duty, monitoring validity of authorizations, training).
  • Monitor and control staff activity, update their qualifications.
  • Recruit and monitor temporary staff (contracts, reasons, training).
  • Conduct annual appraisals, propose and deploy the training plan, participate in managing employee careers.
  • Implement an organization that ensures continuity of operations in case of absence.
  • Support teams daily, supported by team leaders (production and maintenance).

2. Supervise the organization and functioning of Site Production and Maintenance:

  • Ensure the operation of all site equipment (plant, machinery, effluents, general services, etc.)
  • Monitor the execution of subcontracted services (transport, maintenance).
  • Plan work and, if necessary, coordinate it with site activities.
  • Monitor the evolution of technical skills.
  • Plan and monitor maintenance operations.
  • Ensure the monitoring of site performance indicators in compliance with set objectives.
  • Participate in regulatory audits.
  • Analyze activity and incident reports and define corrective actions to be implemented.
  • Organize preventive and curative maintenance.
  • Be the guarantor of the monitoring and compliance with Regulatory Controls.
  • Participate in the implementation of new production tools in conjunction with the Technical Department.
  • Be the guarantor of the conformity and traceability of treated waste.
  • Be the guarantor of the use and proper maintenance of production and maintenance monitoring tools (Treatment CMMS).

3. Ensure financial management:

  • Contribute to the development of the provisional budget (OPEX and CAPEX) for production and maintenance activities with the Site Director.
  • Analyze financial indicators and implement corrective actions.
  • Validate the commitment of expenses within your scope.
  • Ensure activity reporting.

4. Regarding all its activities, the manager:

  • Ensures that safety, hygiene, and environmental rules are applied within their scope as well as across the entire site:
  • Prevention plan, organization of services, work authorization, fire permit, consignments, etc.;
  • Vigiminute, TSU, VMS, DUERP, etc.
  • Manages relations with service providers and external companies within their scope: negotiations, contracts, monitoring, evaluations;
  • Analyzes and monitors maintenance and production indicators, and reports to Management;
  • Performs and/or validates requests for quotes, orders, necessary for the functioning of their department according to current rules (purchasing software, imputations, authorized amount, hierarchical validation, purchasing department, etc.);
  • Supervises a team composed of agent(s), technician(s), and team leader(s).

Qualifications

With a Bac+5 engineering degree (generalist or Process/Chemistry), you have approximately 7 to 10 years of experience in team management on an industrial production site involving the management of plant operation and maintenance.

Required skills:

  • Good computer skills
  • Technical knowledge in electricity, fluidics, mechanics, and automation
  • Knowledge of regulations related to waste activities and Classified Facilities for Environmental Protection (ICPE)
  • Good knowledge in Mineral Chemistry would be appreciated.
  • You have a strong capacity for team leadership and a sense of priorities. You are autonomous and endowed with initiative while being precise (attention to detail).
