Junior Business Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY

BOT VFX, a post-production services company in the entertainment industry with global clients, is looking for a mid-level position “Junior - Business Analyst” on a temporary role basis, 3 to 6 months. 
BOT VFX is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Business Analyst to play a crucial role in understanding and documenting our current (as-is) business systems and processes. This is a contract position for 3 to 6 months with potential for permanent hire, if the candidate is extremely good. 
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with strong communication and analytical skills to gain hands-on experience in business analysis and contribute significantly to our organizational efficiency and future improvements. The successful candidate will work closely with various internal stakeholders across different departments, observing their workflows, eliciting information, and meticulously documenting the existing systems, processes, and their interdependencies. This role requires excellent communication, active listening, and the ability to translate complex information into clear and concise documentation.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITY:

As-Is System and Process Documentation:

• Systematically observe and analyze existing business processes, workflows, and systems within the creative and production departments. 
• Conduct detailed interviews and facilitate discussions with stakeholders from different departments to understand their current processes, pain points and best practices..
• Map and document the current state of business processes using appropriate methodologies (e.g., process flow diagrams, swim lane diagrams, value stream maps).
• Identify and document pain points, inefficiencies, and areas for potential improvement within the current systems and processes.
• Maintain and organize all documentation in a central and easily accessible repository.

Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration:

• Seamlessly communicate with stakeholders to schedule meetings, explain the purpose of documentation efforts, and elicit necessary information.
• Actively listen to stakeholders to understand their perspectives and challenges
• Follow up effectively with stakeholders to clarify information and validate documented processes.

Analysis and Understanding:

• Analyze gathered information to understand the underlying processes and dependencies within the current systems and other processes.
• Identify key stakeholders and their roles within the existing systems.
• Assist senior team members in identifying opportunities for process optimization and system enhancements based on the documented as-is state.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Fresh Graduate: This is an entry-level position suitable for recent graduates with the required skills and aptitude. Candidates with less than 2 years experience working as a Business Analyst can also be considered
• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences. Strong active listening and interpersonal skills.   
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to understand and break down complex processes and systems. Keen attention to detail.
• Learning Agility: Eagerness to learn quickly and adapt to new information and processes.
• Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.  
• Familiarity with process mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Canva, draw.io, lucidchart) is a plus.
