Job Description

DNEG seeks a Lead Stereo Compositor for a 2-month contract starting in April. This key role involves overseeing and guiding the adjustment and cleanup of visual elements in 3D conversion, ensuring high-quality results for ambitious projects. Responsibilities include team management, task coordination, process supervision, and adherence to DNEG's high-quality standards. Experience in VFX Prep is a plus. The ideal candidate possesses 3 years of experience in a senior compositor role within a stereo division's elements department, handling complex mega-compositions and troubleshooting Nuke scripts. Proficiency in Nuke and strong team management skills are essential.
Must have:
  • 3+ years experience as senior compositor in stereo division
  • Proficient in Nuke (node-based compositing, troubleshooting)
  • Handle complex mega-compositions from VFX vendors
  • Team management and timely delivery
  • Understanding of stereo systems and breakdown for conversion
Good to have:
  • VFX Prep experience
  • Training experience in harvesting and breakout

En tant que Lead Stereo Compositeur, vous serez un membre clé de notre équipe Stereo, responsable de superviser et de guider l’ajustement et le nettoyage des éléments visuels dans le cadre de la conversion 3D, tout en garantissant des résultats de haute qualité pour les projets les plus ambitieux. Vous serez également en charge de la gestion de l’équipe, de la coordination des tâches et de la supervision des processus afin d’assurer une production efficace et conforme aux normes de qualité élevées de DNEG. Une expérience en VFX Prep serait un excellent atout.
 

Compétences techniques


- Jusqu'à 3 ans d'expérience dans le département éléments de la division stéréo en tant que compositeur senior.
- Avoir traité des méga-compositions extrêmement complexes de la part des fournisseurs de vfx.
- Très bonne compréhension du système stéréo et de la décomposition requise pour les équipes de conversion.
- Très bonne compréhension du compositing Nuke afin de pouvoir résoudre des problèmes complexes dans le script et de pouvoir les transmettre aux vendeurs de la bonne manière.
- Le candidat doit être proactif en aidant les responsables et les membres de l'équipe à respecter les délais.
 

Connaissances logicielles requises


- Maîtrise de Nuke, y compris la composition basée sur les nœuds, le dépannage et l'optimisation, le rendu et l'emballage.
Compétences générales
- Capacité à gérer l'équipe afin de hiérarchiser les tâches et d'assurer une livraison dans les délais.
- Capacité à rester calme sous pression.
- Expérience préalable dans le domaine de la formation à la récolte et à l'éclatement.
- Capacité à aider à former des artistes à différents niveaux.

Veuillez noter qu’il s’agit d’un poste syndiqué qui sera couvert par une convention collective entre DNEG et l’IATSE dans les mois à venir. En tant qu’employé syndiqué, vous devrez adhérer au syndicat et bénéficierez des conditions établies dans la convention collective. Des cotisations syndicales seront exigées une fois la convention collective en place.

As a Lead Stereo Compositor, you will be a key member of our Stereo team, responsible for overseeing and guiding the adjustment and cleanup of visual elements as part of the 3D conversion process, delivering high-quality results for the most ambitious projects. You will also be responsible for managing the team, coordinating tasks, and supervising processes to ensure efficient production and adherence to DNEG’s high-quality standards. Experience in VFX Prep would be a great asset.
 

Technical Skills

- Upto 3 years of experience in the elements department of the stereo division as senior compositor.
- Should have handled extremely complex mega comps from the vfx vendors.
- Very good understanding of the stereo system and breakdown required for the conversion teams.
- Very good understanding for nuke compositing to be able to troubleshoot complex issues in the script and being able to convey the same to the vendors in the correct manner.
- Should be proactive in helping leads, team members during deadlines.
 

Software Knowledge Requirements

- Proficiency in Nuke, including node-based compositing, troubleshooting, and optimization, rendering, packaging.

Soft Skills

- Ability to manage the team to prioritize tasks and ensure timely delivery.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Should have previous experience in the training division for harvesting and breakout.
- Ability to help train artists at various levels.

Please note that this is a unionized position and will be covered by a collective agreement between DNEG and IATSE, in the coming months. As a unionized employee, you will be required to join the union and will benefit from the conditions set out in the collective agreement. Union dues will be required once the collective agreement is in place.
