Job Description

The Maya Pipeline Developer collaborates with Pipeline Leads to build a Maya pipeline that spans Modeling, Rigging, Animation, and Tracking/Matchmove, using OpenUSD as a backbone. They leverage their production experience to create intuitive and self-documenting workflows that can be quickly adopted by users of differing skill levels, and which can operate efficiently on scenes of extreme scale and complexity. Key responsibilities include solving complex problems related to Maya pipeline workflows, writing high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested Python code, communicating with artists to identify areas of inefficiency and gather requirements, contributing to technical briefs and user documentation.
Must have:
  • 8+ years experience writing Maya pipeline code using Python
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to design intuitive and user-friendly workflows for artists
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming paradigms
  • Comfortable with Git and unit testing
  • Desire to explore and understand the inner workings of complex systems
Good to have:
  • Experience as an artist using Maya in production
  • Experience writing a Maya pipeline using OpenUSD
  • Experience in C++ programming

    • Communiquer avec les artistes pour identifier les zones d'inefficacité et aider à recueillir leurs exigences
    • Contribuer à la rédaction de briefs techniques et de documentation d'utilisateur

Qualifications

    • Passion pour se tenir au courant des dernières fonctionnalités de Maya
    • Plus de 8 ans d'expérience dans l'écriture de code pour le pipeline Maya en utilisant Python
    • Solides compétences en communication écrite et orale
    • Talent avéré pour concevoir des flux de travail intuitifs et conviviaux pour les artistes, sans sacrifier la fonctionnalité
    • Compréhension des modèles de programmation orientée objet
    • À l'aise avec Git et les tests unitaires
    • Désir d'explorer et de comprendre le fonctionnement interne des systèmes complexes
    • Expérience en tant qu'artiste utilisant Maya en production, de préférence
