Job Description

As a Team-lead Technical Artist, you will be responsible for organizing and maintaining the effective work of the technical art department, developing visual content and systems, supervising performance, and optimizing graphics. You will also work closely with other departments to ensure the smooth integration of visual content into the project.
Must have:
  • Strong Unity3D skills
  • C# programming experience
  • Experience with developing shaders
  • Experience with optimizing graphics for mobile devices
  • Understanding of rendering principles
  • Experience with 3D modeling software (3D Max, Maya, Blender)
  • Experience with Photoshop
  • At least 1 year of experience
Good to have:
  • Experience with released or finished projects
  • Visual taste
  • Experience with scripting for graphics packages

You are our person if you have:

  • strong skills in working with Unity3D
  • programming skills in C#
  • experience with writing tools and plugins for Unity
  • experience with developing shaders, including for mobile devices
  • experience with optimizing graphical content for mobile devices
  • understanding of the principles of rendering in real-time and limitations on various platforms
  • confident knowledge of several visual content creation packages (3D Max, Maya, Blender, Photoshop, etc.)
  • at least one year of work experience in a similar position
  • portfolio

  • experience with participating in released or finished projects
  • visual taste
  • skills in writing scripts and plugins for various graphics packages

Some points on tasks:

  • organizing and maintaining the effective work of the technical art department (planning, assigning, accepting tasks)
  • forming and maintaining pipelines and requirements for the visual content being produced with regard for the planned development platforms
  • developing and formalizing the structure and rules for storing visual content and naming convention as well as keeping them up to date
  • developing unconventional visual content and systems (shader, postprocessing, light, camera, scripts for solving visual tasks)
  • supervising the performance of the project's visual side (profiling, load testing)
  • searching for and implementing solutions for optimizing the performance of the project's graphics side
  • participating in creating functional prototypes on the visual side
  • developing tools for automating content work and speeding up the art department's work
  • helping in importing and setting up complex visual content in the engine
  • organizing effective communication between the art department and client development divisions along with game designers on the issues related to the visual side of the project
  • maintaining technical documentation
