Job Summary

The Lighting Artist will be responsible for developing lighting options in the early stages of projects, collaborating with Game Designers and the Art Director. They will create artificial and natural lighting for both indoor and outdoor environments, as well as light prefabs. The role involves creating day-night cycles, various weather conditions in collaboration with FX Artists, and lighting throughout the game and cutscenes. The artist will work with post-processing and color-grading tools, and collaborate with Programmers and FX Artists to improve lighting and environment rendering. Responsibilities include performing lighting-related optimizations.

Must Have

  • Good understanding of light, composition, and color-coding.
  • Understanding of modern and legacy real-time rendering tech and lighting principles.
  • Knowledge of Photoshop and other color grading tools.
  • Good understanding of lighting physics.

Good to Have

  • Versatility in used tools and performed tasks.
  • Scripting experience with Unity and blueprint experience in Unreal.
  • Ability to use any additional software for the task.
  • Visual FX experience (particles, postprocess, flares etc).
  • Hardcore FPS gamer.

LIGHTING ARTIST
