Job Description

As a Radar System Engineer within the GMR (Ground Master Radar) sensor system engineering team in Limours, France, you will contribute to the architecture and system development activities. This role involves defining system options, writing and maintaining radar specifications, allocating system requirements to sub-assemblies, and acting as a point of contact for software and hardware teams. You will also support IVVQ activities, validate system performance, analyze integration issues, and propose improvements for engineering processes.
Must have:
  • Participate in radar architecture activities by determining system options and solutions.
  • Write and maintain radar system specifications, allocating requirements to sub-assemblies.
  • Be responsible for radar system aspects: physical interfaces, electrical consumption, states, modes, supervision, temporal and spatial references.
  • Act as the point of contact for software and hardware managers to clarify needs and validate specifications.
  • Participate in variability management, system Feature Model, and system modeling (Capella).
  • Manage system ECRs (evolutions) and their complete instructions, coordinating with different departments.
  • Provide support for IVVQ activities, participating in radar integration and verification, and validating system performance.
  • Analyze integration problems and propose corrective evolutions.
  • Propose engineering improvements.
  • Hold an engineering degree (BAC+5 equivalent) with at least 5 years of experience in systems engineering, electrical engineering, mechanics, networks, signal processing, or automation.
  • Be rigorous, dynamic, and capable of solving complex problems.
  • Manage technical communication with clients and projects and possess strong writing skills.
  • Be proficient in English.
  • Possess interpersonal skills to lead, coordinate, and unite development teams.

Your daily life

Located 20 minutes from the Paris-Saclay technology hub, the site is one of the largest centers of excellence for surface radars. We contribute to developing, designing, integrating, and testing air surveillance radars dedicated to target detection and identification.

Within the GMR (Ground Master Radar) sensor system engineering team, you will participate in architecture and system development activities.

The sensor system engineering scope includes the entire radar system ready to receive processing algorithms.

In this context, you will be entrusted with the following missions:

  • Participate in radar architecture activities by determining system options and solutions that meet client and product needs.
  • Write the system part of radar specifications and ensure their maintenance. Allocate system requirements to sub-assemblies.
  • Be responsible to the product or project for the following radar system aspects: physical interfaces between sub-assemblies, electrical consumption, states and modes, startup, degraded modes, supervision, temporal and spatial references, etc.
  • Be the point of contact for software and hardware managers to explain needs, validate sub-assembly specifications, and interface documents.
  • Participate in variability management, the system Feature Model, and system modeling (Capella).
  • Manage system ECRs (evolutions) and their complete instructions, in coordination with different departments.
  • Provide support for IVVQ activities by participating in radar integration and verification, being responsible for validating system performance.
  • Analyze problems encountered during integration and propose evolutions to correct them.
  • Be proactive in proposing engineering improvements.

Your profile

With an engineering degree or equivalent (BAC+5), you have a minimum of 5 years of experience in several of the following areas: systems engineering, electrical engineering, mechanics, networks, signal processing, automation.

You are rigorous, dynamic, and have an aptitude for solving complex problems.

You know how to manage technical communication with clients and projects, and you have writing skills.

Your interpersonal skills allow you to lead, coordinate, and unite development teams.

You have a team spirit and know how to organize yourself.

You have a good command of the English language.
