Job Description

The Senior DevSecOps Lead will drive technical excellence and best practices while managing a cross-functional team of DevOps/SecOps engineers and IT compliance specialists. This role requires proficiency in hands-on technical execution and leadership, with a security-first mindset across a multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, Digital Ocean, colocation). Responsibilities include technical leadership, mentoring a team, establishing KPIs, architectural unification, standardization of configurations, aligning security protocols, developing governance models, and coordinating security initiatives. The role also involves hands-on engineering tasks such as architecting IaC implementations, designing security strategies, enabling consolidation engineering, architecting and maintaining resilient systems. The job also focuses on driving real growth for clients by ensuring their budgets are spent effectively.
Must have:
  • 8+ years of DevOps/SecOps experience in enterprise-scale environment.
  • Experience in architecting multi-cloud infrastructure with zero-trust security.
  • Expertise in IaC implementation using Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, etc.
  • Proficiency in PaC and compliance frameworks.
  • Advanced proficiency in securing AWS/Azure/GCP environments.
  • CI/CD mastery using Jenkins, CircleCI, etc.
  • Expertise in Observability using Splunk/ELK stack, etc.
  • Proven track record in Containerization and Orchestration.
  • Experience deploying runtime security tools.
  • Proficiency in Golang/Python for security and automation.
Good to have:
  • Experience implementing SOC 2/HIPAA/GDPR controls.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cloud consolidation initiatives.
  • Experience implementing DevSecOps KPIs.
  • Certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, CISSP, etc.
  • Experience with Digital Ocean/Linode cloud platforms.

About the Position:


We are seeking an experienced Senior DevSecOps Lead to drive technical excellence and best practices while managing a cross-functional team of DevOps/SecOps engineers and IT compliance specialists. This role requires equal proficiency in hands-on technical execution and leadership, with a security-first mindset across our multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, Digital Ocean, colocation).


Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership (30%):

  • Lead and mentor a small team of engineers across DevOps, SecOps, and IT compliance functions
  • Establish DevSecOps KPIs and implement team performance metrics
  • Own DevOps and SecOps consolidation initiatives across Ionik subsidiaries through:
  • Architectural unification of disparate CI/CD pipelines and toolchains
  • Standardization of IaC configurations and deployment patterns enterprise-wide
  • Alignment of security protocols and controls across 5+ development teams
  • Development of common governance models for infrastructure changes
  • Establishment of Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) with subsidiary architects
  • Coordinate cross-functional security initiatives with Software Engineering teams
  • Own incident response protocols and post-mortem analysis processes

Hands-On Engineering (70%):

  • Architect secure IaC implementations
  • Implement cloud-agnostic abstraction layer for multi-cloud interoperability
  • Architect colocation modernization strategies
  • Design multi-cloud security strategies with zero-trust networking principles
  • Enable consolidation engineering through:
  • Unified observability framework (metrics/logs/tracing)
  • Unified governance framework (IAM, Access Controls, Cost Optimization, Policy-as-Code, Compliance-as-Code)
  • Multi-cloud bulk workload transfers
  • Storage consolidation strategies
  • Retirement of redundant services
  • Multi-account management
  • Architect and maintain resilient cross-region/cross-cloud systems

Qualifications:

Must-have skills:

  • 8+ years of hands-on DevOps/SecOps experience in enterprise-scale environment, with 5+ years in technical leadership roles managing cross-functional teams
  • Proven track record in architecting multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) with zero-trust security principles and hybrid cloud/colocation strategies
  • Expertise in IaC implementation using Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, CloudFormation/CDK, or equivalent tools
  • Proficiency in PaC (Policy-as-Code) and compliance frameworks, such as HashiCorp Sentinel, Pulumi CrossGuard, OPA/Red Hat, or equivalent tools
  • Advanced proficiency in securing AWS/Azure/GCP environments, including IAM, network security, and workload isolation
  • CI/CD mastery using Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or equivalent tools for standardized enterprise deployments
  • Expertise in Observability using Splunk/ELK stack, NewRelic, Grafana, or equivalent tools for unified logging/monitoring across hybrid infrastructure
  • Proven track record in Containerization and Orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or equivalent technologies
  • Experience deploying runtime security tools in production environments
  • Proficiency in Golang/Python for security and automation tooling

Nice-to-have skills:

  • Experience implementing SOC 2/HIPAA/GDPR controls through CI/CD-integrated scanning tools (Nessus, SonarQube, Snyk, Checkov)
  • Demonstrated success in leading cloud consolidation initiatives (account management, workload migration, cost optimization)
  • Experience implementing DevSecOps KPIs for team performance and system reliability
  • Certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, CISSP, AZ-400, or DASA DevOps Leader
  • Experience with Digital Ocean/Linode cloud platforms
