Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Compensation & Benefits at Banyan Software will lead the global design, development, governance, and execution of compensation and benefits programs. This role is critical for scaling Total Rewards across Banyan and its operating companies, requiring prior experience in global program ownership. Reporting to the VP, People, the manager will drive global strategy, build scalable frameworks for growth through acquisition, and advise executive leadership on compensation, benefits, and related risks. The position demands significant independent judgment and leadership through direct management and cross-functional influence to ensure competitive and compliant reward strategies.

Must Have

  • Manage vendor partnerships (brokers, 401k administrators, recordkeepers).
  • Lead development of Total Rewards analytics, dashboards, and executive reporting.
  • Translate complex compensation and benefits data into actionable insights.
  • Partner with Finance for workforce planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop compensation and benefits professionals.
  • Influence cross-functional teams (HR, Talent Acquisition, Finance, Payroll, Legal).
  • Establish best practices, documentation, controls, and audit-ready processes.

The Senior Manager, Compensation & Benefits is responsible for leading the design, development, governance, and execution of Banyan’s global compensation and benefits programs. This role requires prior experience owning and scaling global Total Rewards programs and carries enterprise-wide impact across Banyan and its operating companies.

Reporting to the VP, People, this role leads global program strategy, builds scalable frameworks to support growth through acquisition, and serves as a key advisor to executive leadership on compensation, benefits, and Total Rewards-related risk. The role exercises significant independent judgment and leads through both direct leadership and cross-functional influence.

Global Compensation & Benefits Strategy

  • Lead the end-to-end design, development, and evolution of global compensation and benefits programs, ensuring alignment with Banyan’s business strategy, internal equity, and external market competitiveness.
  • Own Banyan’s global Total Rewards pay for performance philosophy, frameworks, and governance, including job architecture, leveling, pay bands, and approval processes.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the VP, People and executive leadership on compensation and benefits strategy, workforce cost management, and reward trade-offs.
  • Oversee annual and off-cycle compensation programs globally, including merit, promotions, incentive plans, and executive or high-impact compensation decisions.

Benefits Leadership & Global Onboarding

  • Own and evolve Banyan’s global benefits strategy, with deep expertise in US and Canada benefits and oversight of international benefits programs.
  • Lead the design and execution of global benefits onboarding, ensuring newly hired employees and newly acquired companies receive a consistent, compliant, and high-quality onboarding experience across regions.
  • Establish standardized global benefits onboarding materials, processes, and timelines, while allowing for local regulatory and cultural requirements.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex or high-risk benefits matters, including executive benefits and retirement programs.
  • Own benefits vendor strategy, renewals, and performance management to ensure cost effectiveness and service quality.

Program Development & Training

  • Lead the development of scalable compensation and benefits programs, policies, and playbooks to support Banyan’s continued global growth.
  • Design and deliver compensation and benefits training programs for HR Business Partners, People leaders, and employees globally.
  • Build education frameworks of Total Rewards programs to support operating companies.
  • Partner with HR, Talent, and Payroll teams to embed Total Rewards programs into broader People processes.

Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Leadership

  • Serve as the Total Rewards lead for M&A, owning compensation and benefits due diligence, risk assessment, and executive recommendations.
  • Develop standardized compensation and benefits scorecards for acquisition targets to support investment decisions.
  • Lead post-acquisition integration of compensation and benefits programs, including global benefits onboarding for newly acquired employees.
  • Build scalable infrastructure, tools, and integration playbooks to support rapid onboarding of new operating companies.
  • Manage vendor partnerships with brokers, 401k administrators and recordkeepers.

Data, Analytics & Executive Influence

  • Lead the development of Total Rewards analytics, dashboards, and executive-level reporting to inform leadership and Board discussions.
  • Translate complex compensation and benefits data into actionable insights and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with Finance to support workforce planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization initiatives.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Influence

  • Lead, mentor, and develop compensation and benefits professionals as the function scales globally.
  • Influence without authority by partnering with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Finance, Payroll, Legal, and operating company leadership.
  • Establish best practices, documentation, controls, and audit-ready processes across the Total Rewards function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field; advanced certifications (e.g., CCP) preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits or total rewards, with demonstrated prior experience leading global compensation and benefits programs.
  • Deep expertise in global compensation and benefits, including US, Canada, India, Pakistan, UK, Europe and APAC, with experience overseeing international programs strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing compensation and benefits programs at scale, including training and enablement for HR and business leaders.
  • Strong working knowledge of global compensation governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
  • Experience supporting M&A due diligence and post-acquisition integration across multiple operating companies.
  • Advanced analytical and financial acumen with the ability to influence executive decision-making through data.
  • Executive-level communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
