Job Summary
Morningstar's Retirement group builds products and solutions to help employers maximize workplace retirement plans and improve individual retirement outcomes. The Retirement Services Center is crucial for this mission. As a Retirement Services Representative, you will assist retirement plan participants with Morningstar Retirement Manager and guide financial advisors on Plan Advantage. This role involves responding to inquiries, demonstrating product knowledge, promoting managed accounts, and collaborating with internal teams to resolve issues. It's an ideal position for someone passionate about helping investors achieve long-term financial goals.
Must Have
- Respond to inbound client inquiries via phone and email.
- Guide clients through Morningstar Retirement’s multiple product user interfaces.
- Increase adoption and retention of managed account service.
- Provide guidance and support to financial advisors using Plan Advantage.
- Collaborate with operations team to investigate and resolve issues.
- Communicate with teammates and team leaders regarding recurrent issues.
- Share customer feedback with management.
- College degree or equivalent work experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prior experience working in a customer service environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in client interactions.
- Proactive and creative thinking skills with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Proficiencies in Microsoft Office Suite.

- Prior experience supporting financial products or financial software solutions.
- Bilingual in Spanish.

The Retirement Services Center within Morningstar Retirement is critical to achieving our mission of helping individuals achieve a better retirement.
The Role
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate person with a strong desire to help others. As a Retirement Services Representative, you will respond to inquiries from retirement plan participants who are current or prospective clients of our managed account service, Morningstar Retirement Manager. Your responsibility will be to help individuals navigate our online platform and to promote the value of our personalized savings and investment advice. You will also respond to questions from retirement plan advisors regarding our fiduciary services product, Plan Advantage. As advisors build, review, and manage their own clients’ retirement plan menus, you will provide key guidance and product expertise. This is an ideal position for someone who is eager to enter the retirement industry and passionate about helping investors achieve their long-term goals. It is based in our Chicago office.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to inbound client inquiries via phone and email.
- Guide clients through the user interfaces of Morningstar Retirement’s multiple products, demonstrating exceptional product knowledge.
- Increase adoption and retention of our managed account service by promoting the value of risk-appropriate portfolios and explaining our methodology in accessible and concise language.
- Provide guidance and support to financial advisors as they utilize Plan Advantage to build and review their clients’ retirement plans.
- Collaborate with our operations team to investigate and resolve issues as they arise, serving as a key point of contact between clients and internal experts.
- Communicate with teammates and team leaders regarding recurrent issues.
- Share customer feedback with management to continuously improve the client experience.
Qualifications:
- College degree or equivalent work experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prior experience working in a customer service environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in client interactions.
- Proactive and creative thinking skills with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Proficiencies in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Prior experience supporting financial products or financial software solutions is a plus.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Total Cash Compensation Range
$59,900.00 - 101,825.00 USD Annual
Inclusive of annual base salary and target incentive
