Job Description

As a Sr. Staff Manager in Analog/Mixed-Signal IC Design, you will lead the development of advanced CMOS transceiver and SERDES products. This role involves designing, implementing, and verifying complex analog/mixed-signal circuits like PLLs, ADCs, and voltage regulators, ensuring they meet performance and power targets. You will also lead and mentor a team of engineers, provide strategic technical direction, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align design efforts with product requirements and market needs, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
Must Have:
  • Design, implement, and verify complex analog/mixed-signal circuits, including PLLs, DLLs, ADCs, voltage regulators, amplifiers, TX, RX, and CDRs
  • Perform comprehensive circuit design verification using industry-standard simulation tools such as Cadence Spectre, MATLAB, or equivalent
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of analog and mixed-signal blocks into larger system architectures
  • Optimize designs for manufacturability, yield, and performance across process variations
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering an environment of technical excellence and collaboration
  • Provide strategic technical direction and oversight, ensuring successful execution of design and verification tasks to meet project milestones
  • Act as a key interface between senior leadership and your team, translating high-level objectives into actionable technical and project plans
  • Guide professional development of team members through coaching, training, and performance evaluations
  • Champion best practices in IC design methodology, promoting innovation and continuous improvement
  • Work closely with product, system, and test engineering teams to align design efforts with product requirements and market needs
  • Drive technical problem-solving across design and implementation phases, ensuring timely resolution of challenges
  • Master’s degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 5+ years of experience
  • Hands-on experience in designing mixed signal circuits including ADCs, DACs, RX, TX, PLLs, Filters, Bandgap bias circuits, regulators, and other analog circuits
  • Strong knowledge on the deep sub-micron CMOS technologies
  • Knowledge and experience on low power and high speed design techniques
  • Strong knowledge on IC design CAD tools such as Spectre, Spice, Matlab, Hsim, Verilog, etc.
  • Lab testing skills to evaluate the prototype unit to the design specification

What You Can Expect

As a Sr. Staff Manager with expertise in Analog/Mixed-Signal IC Design, you will play a critical role in driving the development of cutting-edge CMOS transceiver and SERDES products. This dual-role position requires a blend of deep technical expertise and strong leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Analog/Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineering:

  • Design, implement, and verify complex analog/mixed-signal circuits, including but not limited to PLLs, DLLs, ADCs, voltage regulators, amplifiers, TX, RX, and CDRs, to meet stringent performance and power targets.
  • Perform comprehensive circuit design verification using industry-standard simulation tools such as Cadence Spectre, MATLAB, or equivalent.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of analog and mixed-signal blocks into larger system architectures.
  • Optimize designs for manufacturability, yield, and performance across process variations.

2. Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering an environment of technical excellence and collaboration.
  • Provide strategic technical direction and oversight, ensuring successful execution of design and verification tasks to meet project milestones.
  • Act as a key interface between senior leadership and your team, translating high-level objectives into actionable technical and project plans.
  • Guide professional development of team members through coaching, training, and performance evaluations to help them advance their careers.
  • Champion best practices in IC design methodology, promoting innovation and continuous improvement.

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with product, system, and test engineering teams to align design efforts with product requirements and market needs.
  • Drive technical problem-solving across design and implementation phases, ensuring timely resolution of challenges.
  • Contribute to the company’s broader technical roadmap and strategy by sharing insights from team activities and industry trends.

What We're Looking For

  • Master’s degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 5+ years of experience
  • Hands-on experience in designing mixed signal circuits including ADCs, DACs, RX, TX, PLLs, Filters, Bandgap bias circuits, regulators, and other analog circuits.
  • Specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise.
  • Ability to apply innovative solutions to resolve complex issues.
  • History of identifying and developing best practices that deliver high-quality and effective solutions.
  • Strong knowledge on the deep sub-micron CMOS technologies.
  • Knowledge and experience on low power and high speed design techniques.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong knowledge on IC design CAD tools such as Spectre, Spice, Matlab, Hsim, Verilog, etc.
  • Lab testing skills to evaluate the prototype unit to the design specification.
