THE ROLE

Firewalk Studios is looking for a Technical Artist who is interested in applying their skills to help bring exceptional entertainment to millions of players. As our Technical Artist focused on UI, you will be responsible for collaborating with the internal art teams, external co-development partners, and external outsource vendors to support the visual goals of all content creators and designers.

WHO YOU ARE

  • You enjoy applying standard and creative solutions in UMG to solve interesting UI challenges.
  • You have a good background using UMG and Unreal Editor.
  • You are familiar with the performance tradeoffs of different UMG elements.
  • You are a flexible communicator who can take advantage of all the remote working tools and software (Email, Slack, Zoom, MSFT Teams, etc.) to create explicit requests.
  • You enjoy seeing multi-faceted and distributed workflows come together to make a sum greater than the parts.

WHAT YOUR DAY MIGHT LOOK LIKE

  • Meet with Art, Technical Art, UI Engineering, and Design leads to gather new UI requests or receive feedback on existing UI screens and elements.
  • Capturing and analyzing performance of UI screens on production assets.
  • Work with UI engineering and design to build new UI screens and elements
  • Join a playtest to see how the team’s work influences the game and give feedback on the entire game.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with and strong technical knowledge of UMG.
  • Proven methods for providing timely and effective content feedback.
  • You have a strong technical understanding of performance optimization and metrics in UMG.
  • You have collaborated with a team to meet shared goals or ship a project as a Technical Artist.
  • Experience with the production cycle of competitive multiplayer games is a big plus.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
