A Technical Sales Representative position has become available in the IWT Division within the Petrochemical industries in Sasolburg. Responsibilities include ensuring sustainability and growth of accounts, expanding business, maintaining existing applications, aligning sales with marketing strategy, improving SHERQ performance, and supporting continuous improvements. The role requires a degree in Chemistry/related field, minimum 2 years of technical sales experience, and strong communication and computer skills.

Must Have

  • Ensure sustainability and growth of specific accounts
  • Retain and expand business to grow sales and profit margins
  • Maintain existing applications and equipment and perform technical services
  • Align sales efforts with Buckman marketing strategy
  • Maintain and improve SHERQ performance
  • Support Account manager in managing and implementing Continuous Improvements and Projects
  • Degree or National Diploma in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Microbiology/Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years relevant technical sales experience
  • Computer literate in Microsoft packages
  • Understand business systems
  • Able to produce technical reports
  • Driver’s License

A Technical Sales Representative (Account Representative) position has become available in the IWT Division within the Petrochemical industries.

Qualifications:

  • A Degree or National Diploma or equivalent in Chemistry/ Biochemistry / Microbiology / Metallurgy / Chemical Engineering is a pre-requisite.

Experience:

  • A Minimum of 2 years relevant technical sales experience, or 10 years relevant experience.

Exposure to/ Experience in the following will be a significant advantage:

  • Petrochemical Process treatment
  • Boiler water treatment
  • Raw water flocculation treatment
  • Cooling water treatment
  • Liquid/solid separation
  • Written service reports
  • Having done internal service inspections of related equipment at customer’ sites
  • Experience in polymer application to solid/liquid separation.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Ensure sustainability and growth of a specific account/accounts by conducting the following activities in accordance with “The Buckman Way”
  • Retain and expand business to grow sales and profit margins to achieve business objectives
  • Ensure existing applications and equipment are maintained and technical services are performed to ensure optimal performance
  • Ensure that the sales efforts are aligned with Buckman marketing strategy
  • Maintain and improve SHERQ performance to deliver targeted sales at the lowest possible risk to the company
  • Support the Account manager in managing and implementing Continuous Improvements and Projects

The successful candidate will be a people-person, practically orientated, able to handle pressure, a problem solver and a team member who is self-motivated. They must be able to communicate at all levels, be organized and self-disciplined. Candidate needs to be computer literate in Microsoft packages, and understand business systems and be able to produce technical reports. This position requires the candidate to have a Driver’s License. The career is challenging with exceptional growth possibility.
