Test Director - JTC-TRS Systems

Job Summary
This role is for a Test Director with in-depth knowledge of the Joint Terminal Control Training and Rehearsal System (JTC-TRS). The position involves extensive travel for device upgrades, testing, and training at customer sites globally. Based at CAE Arlington, TX, the director will support JTC TRS Domes and Desktop Systems, act as a subject matter expert, troubleshoot hardware, perform verification testing, provide training, and maintain customer relationships for CAE's Defense & Security unit.
Must Have
- Be the SME for the JTC-TRS system (operator and technical).
- Able to troubleshoot routine computing hardware issues.
- Able to perform verification testing and guide discrepancy resolution.
- Perform familiarization training for operators and maintenance personnel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Work well as part of a small deployment team.
- Communicate well with remote management and support team.
- Assist CAE personnel in maintaining JTC TRS training systems.
- Provide guidance on JTC-TRS system changes.
- Work with program, product, and functional management teams to ensure training system meets requirements.
- Transmit opportunities for new work through program management.
- Support, develop, and maintain customer relationships.
- Provide program proposal and development support for JCT-TRS and JTAGSS Systems.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an operator or maintainer of JTC-TRS training systems.
- Previous instructor / teaching experience.
- Computing complex and network troubleshooting ability.
- Willing to work overtime, weekends, and off-shifts as required.
- Understanding of military protocol and customs.
- Eligible for DoD SECRET Security Clearance.
- Strong MS-Office toolset skills.
- Must be a U.S. citizen due to U.S. Government contract requirements.
Good to Have
- Knowledge of military simulator/training devices, specifically JTC TRS system.
- Previous experience as a Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) or similar duties.
- Previous experience as a Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) or similar duties.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- CompTIA Security+ Certification.
- Experience with ACAS/Nessus/SCAP/SCC vulnerability scanning.
- CISSP certification.
- Previous experience with Air Support Operations Center (ASOC) operations.

Summary
This position requires a candidate with in-depth knowledge of the Joint Terminal Control Training and Rehearsal System (JTC-TRS). The candidate will travel extensively to support device upgrades, testing, and training at customer sites worldwide. The Candidate will support CAE efforts with the JTC TRS Domes and Desktop Systems. This position is not eligible for WFH.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- This is a customer-facing position. Strong communication and “soft skills” are required.
- Be the SME for the JTC-TRS system, both from an operator and technical aspect.
- Able to troubleshoot routine computing hardware issues with limited assistance
- Able to perform verification testing, providing guidance on discrepancy resolution to engineering
- Perform familiarization training for operators and maintenance personnel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information to technical and non-technical audiences including peers, management, and customers
- Works well as part of a small deployment team
- Able to communicate well with a remote management and support team
- Assist CAE personnel in maintaining the JTC TRS training systems
- Provide guidance and insight into any changes needed or recommended on the JTC-TRS system
- Work with the program, product, and functional management teams to support technical direction and ensure that the training system meets requirements.
- Transmit opportunities for new work through program management, detailing the criticality and scope of work for proposal purposes.
- Support, develop, and maintain customer relationships
- Provide program proposal and development support for JCT-TRS and JTAGSS Systems
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an operator or maintainer of JTC-TRS training systems
- Previous instructor / teaching experience
- Computing complex and network troubleshooting ability
- Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and off-shifts as required to meet contractual timelines
- An understanding of military protocol and customs is essential.
- Incumbent must be eligible for DoD SECRET Security Clearance.
- Strong MS-Office toolset skills

Security Responsibilities
Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
- Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Work Environment
- Extensive travel is possible, 30% or more.
- Must be able to travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites.
- Position is full-time in office at CAE Arlington TX facility
- Moderate to high levels of stress, associated with technical, schedule, and customer issues are to be expected with this position.

- May be required to sit down for long lengths of time.
- May be required to climb stairs.
- Must be able to climb stairs to enter and exit a simulator
- Must be able to carry up to 20 lbs. of equipment 50 yards
