Job Summary

The Test Technician will be responsible for implementing, conducting, and processing mechanical, thermal, and material tests, including formulations, test pieces, and characterization tests. Daily tasks involve gathering test requirements, defining test methods and resources, preparing and executing tests, analyzing results, and ensuring laboratory equipment maintenance and safety.

Must Have

  • Bac +2 with specialization in Mechanical Engineering, Thermodynamic and Energy Engineering, Materials Engineering, Physical Measurements, Physical Chemistry, or Metallurgy.
  • 3 years of experience in the testing field.
  • Knowledge in material resistance, heat transfer, metrology, physical measurements.
  • Skills in conducting tests and assemblies and test pieces, measurement instrumentation, acquisition systems, and actuators.
  • Autonomous, rigorous, curious, with strong teamwork ability.

Job Description

Your mission: The mission consists of ensuring the implementation, conduct, and processing of mechanical / thermal / material tests (such as the realization of formulations, test pieces, or characterization tests).

On a daily basis, you will:

  • Collect and record the test needs of the requester and define, independently or with the support of a Test Engineer, the appropriate types and means of testing, methods, budget, and realization deadlines.
  • Prepare tests by implementing test instructions and checking the proper functioning of equipment: prepare and condition test pieces, program input data, test protocols, and install measurement equipment.
  • Perform tests and, if necessary, check the results of intermediate test phases such as sensor responses or preliminary settings.
  • Report on the progress of tests in accordance with the agreed schedule and inform the requester and the Activity Manager of any difficulties and delays encountered.
  • Examine the results, evaluate their relevance/consistency, post-process, and propose a finalized initial analysis to the Test Engineer.
  • Present your in-situ tests to visitors (homologation, mechanical tests on sub-systems, material characterization tests, thermal, etc.), including during audits.
  • Ensure the maintenance of laboratory equipment and materials in good condition and their renewal, ensure the monitoring of software updates.
  • Participate in the establishment of inventories and supplies / orders.
  • Manage measurement equipment in coordination with the Metrology Referent.
  • Participate and contribute to the continuous improvement of the laboratory.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the laboratory.
  • Guarantee the quality, consistency, and commitment deadlines of your tests.
  • Interact with external laboratories or partners in France when necessary.

Qualifications

The profile we are looking for:

  • Bac +2 (equivalent to a 2-year post-secondary degree) with a specialization in Mechanical Engineering or Thermodynamic and Energy Engineering or Materials Engineering or Physical Measurements or Physical Chemistry or Metallurgy.
  • 3 years of experience in the testing field.
  • Knowledge in material resistance, heat transfer, metrology, physical measurements.
  • Skills in conducting tests and assemblies and test pieces, measurement instrumentation, acquisition systems and actuators.
  • You are autonomous, rigorous, curious with a strong ability to work in a team.

Additional Information

What we offer:

  • Permanent contract (CDI) status non-executive, to be filled as soon as possible.
  • 37h15min weekly, 14 RTT per year.
  • A fixed salary between 30K€ and 40K€ (depending on experience).
  • Variable compensation including participation/profit-sharing bonuses and objective-based bonuses.
