Red Rover Interactive is an exciting new game development studio founded by industry veterans from renowned companies such as Funcom, Lockwood Publishing, Bohemia Interactive, Ubisoft Reflections, and more. We're on a mission to reimagine the multiplayer gaming landscape, with an emphasis on crafting groundbreaking survival experiences that champion player agency and drama.

The Role:

We are seeking a talented and driven Intermediate UI & Gameplay Programmer to join our dynamic development team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about game development, with a strong background in both user interface design and game coding. You will play a crucial role in shaping the player experience by developing and implementing seamless, intuitive, and visually compelling UI elements, as well as writing and maintaining efficient game code.

  • Design, implement, and optimize user interface elements for our Survival PvP game, ensuring they are visually appealing and functionally robust.
  • Collaborate closely with game designers and artists to create intuitive UI that enhances player experience.
  • Develop responsive and adaptive UI systems that work across various screen sizes and resolutions.
  • Write and maintain clean, efficient, and well-documented code for game systems and mechanics.
  • Implement gameplay features and systems in line with design specifications.
  • Work with the QA team to debug and resolve issues related to game functionality and performance.
  • Work alongside designers, artists, and other programmers to integrate UI with game mechanics seamlessly.
  • Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and continuously improve coding standards and practices within the team.
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions and provide input on improving game design and user experience.
  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks in both UI and game code.
  • Optimize game features for better performance and reduced memory usage on target platforms.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Proficiency in C++ and/or C# programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of game development frameworks and Unreal engine.
  • Experience with UI/UX design tools and principles.
  • Familiarity with multiplayer and networked game systems is a plus.

In addition, we expect you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in game development, with a focus on UI and gameplay programming.
