Marvel Studios' Visual Development Department explores characters, concepts, and styles for live-action films, streaming shows, and special projects. The Visual Development Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the organization of art assets to ensure that all art deadlines are met and supporting the team’s day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities:
Reports to the Visual Development Manager
Supports the Vis Dev Manager and a team of artists to organize and schedule the timely delivery of key art concepts
Builds strong relationships by interfacing across departments in the organization, on multiple, simultaneous live-action projects
Organizes/categorizes all art assets on internal databases
Prepares presentation materials, which includes collecting submissions from artists, filing assets correctly and with accurate naming conventions, tracking the delivery of materials, and preparing presentation slides
Attends Vis Dev reviews/presentations and ensures conference rooms are properly set up, laptop sharing is operational, and all necessary materials are printed
Assists the Vis Dev Manager with artist requests (i.e. technical support, onboarding, preparing for conventions/conferences)
Helps to facilitate effective and efficient workflows
Keeps inventory and restocks office supplies for the Vis Dev team
Responsible for logistics and coordination of additional Vis Dev projects (including “Art of Marvel” books and social media approvals)
Support for Vis Dev-related panels and events (e.g. San Diego Comic-Con and D23)
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in an art department or visual development department (or similar studio/production environment)
Familiarity with the MCU, including general plotlines, main characters, and cast
Knowledge of film and television production processes
Highly organized and comfortable in a fast-paced production office environment
Strong time management skills; ability to prioritize and follow through on large volumes of incoming inquiries and information
Clear-thinking, straightforward approach to problem-solving
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of Keynote/PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook/Excel required; Photoshop experience a plus
Flexibility to learn new software and systems as used in our internal processes
Availability for occasional travel to off-site events in the Los Angeles area
