What you’d be doing in this role

We are looking for a dynamic Creative Production Director to lead our Production Studio, within the Canva Creative team. This is a 7 month fixed-term maternity cover contract, with potential opportunities for transitioning to permanent for the right fit.

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

  • Lead a powerhouse Production Studio of 50 creative professionals, including producers, videographers, motion designers, and more, to deliver world-class creative content across TVCs, OOH, Social Media, Print, Live Events, and beyond.
  • Oversee the entire production slate, managing high-profile campaigns like our global brand campaigns, our annual Canva Create event, and others in collaboration with our Group Operations Director, Production Operations Director, and Executive Creative Director.
  • Innovate production processes and workflows, ensuring efficiency while elevating craft and quality in all creative outputs.
  • Act as a mentor and coach to senior team members (currently of about 3-4), fostering growth, creativity, and a collaborative team culture.
  • Build and nurture relationships with vendors and external partners, ensuring seamless execution during high-volume periods.
  • Strategically manage budgets and resources to deliver impactful, on-brand content that connects with Canva’s global audience.
