About the Role:
We are looking for a highly skilled and creative Game Animator to join our dynamic team. As a Game Animator, you will be responsible for creating, refining, and implementing a wide range of stylized animations to bring our characters and worlds to life. Your work will focus on both creative and technical aspects, ensuring seamless integration and consistency across all animations.
Key Responsibilities:
Creative Tasks:
- New Animations: Develop engaging, stylized animations for various characters and elements within the game, including creating smooth locomotion animations in all directions (e.g., walk, run, sprint) to ensure fluid and visually appealing movement.
- Blending & Transition Animations: Create smooth blending and transition animations between different actions, enhancing the fluidity and stylization of character movements.
- Consistency in Animation Style and Bug Fixing: Maintain a consistent and stylized animation style across all assets while identifying and resolving animation-related bugs.
Additional Tasks (Technical}:
- Unity Animation Controller & Player Settings Requirements: Implement and optimize animations within Unity, utilizing animation controllers and configuring player settings to achieve desired results.
- Rigging Updates: Update and modify character rigs as needed to support new animations and improve animation quality.
- Skinning Costumes: Work on skinning and integrating various costumes and character models, ensuring they animate correctly and look natural within the stylized framework.
Hard Skills:
- Proficiency in Maya and MotionBuilder: Advanced skills in both Maya and MotionBuilder for creating and refining stylized animations.
- Strong Understanding of Maya Layers: Good understanding of using layers in Maya for animation, allowing for efficient organization and management of complex scenes.
- Unity Expertise: Strong understanding of Unity, particularly in using animation controllers and configuring player settings.
- Rigging & Skinning: Proficient in character rigging and skinning, ensuring smooth and natural animations within the stylized framework.
- Animation Principles: In-depth knowledge of animation principles, including timing, spacing, and weight.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Ability to debug and resolve animation-related issues within game engines.
