Indirect Tax Compliance & Transformation Manager

In this role you will ensure that Adyen's indirect tax compliance and e-invoicing processes are well set up for our continued growth and global expansion. You are proactive, practical and gain a lot of energy from improving, automating and scaling. You’ve affinity with data & technology and use it for coming up with solutions. 

You will report to the Global Head of Tax and be part of the centralized, Amsterdam-based tax team, which is made up of colleagues in Indirect Tax, Wage Tax, Tax Data & Technology, International Tax & Transfer Pricing. 

You will

• Develop a vision and come up with a strategy to fully automate our VAT compliance processes, incl. e-invoicing 
• Translate the vision and strategy into actionable steps and lead the implementation thereof
• Always look for ways of optimizing processes and automating manual tasks to ensure the indirect tax function (incl. related compliance) is well structured for our continued growth and global expansion
• Oversee and manage the current indirect tax compliance process from end to end, ensuring efficient and accurate completion of VAT returns
• Perform month-end close activities, such as tax entries and indirect tax position reviews
• Review and sign-off on tax returns
• Deal and assist with tax audits, as and when they arise
• Interact with stakeholders across multiple functions and regions mostly within Group Finance to ensure an efficient and effective collaboration.

• You’ve affinity with data and (indirect) tax technology and use this to come up with solutions
• You’re not afraid to think out-of-the box and are able to come up with creative solutions
• You’re a go-getter, take ownership and are not afraid of doing the work yourself and do things outside your comfort zone
• You’ve affinity with data and indirect tax technology and use this to come up with solutions
• You have proven experience in an indirect tax (compliance) role 
• You thrive in a rapidly-changing environment
• In-house experience, and an exposure to the digital economy/financial institutions is a plus
