SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking an Integrated Construction Coordinator I to join our Solar Group in either our Minneapolis Headquarters or remote. This role will partner and support our team to review, provide analysis, management, and resolution of field and design coordination issues with project team members and participants. You will be joining a rapidly growing Solar VDC Integration team that has grown from 2 to 8 team members in the past 2 years. We are a dynamic group focused on continuous learning and ever evolving innovation. We are looking for an innovator at heart and someone who is always looking to learn new technology. Excellent communication skills are necessary as you will interact with staff at all levels in a consistently changing environment. Demonstrating the ability to be flexible, inventive, dedicated, and efficient with a high level of integrity and confidentiality will be vital for your success. Strong planning and organization skills are critical for completing your tasks.

Ideal candidate can proficiently utilize Civil3D, perform general CAD operations, and has a passion for developing clear analysis drawings for project teams. An added plus but not required is beginner Revit experience, passion for drones / scanning technologies, and an interest in learning about CAD integration with 4D schedule modeling.

KEY RESULT AREAS (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

Plan, implement, and oversee VDC processes through appropriate technology platforms

May include, Mortenson BIM/VDC uses: existing conditions modeling, cost estimation, phase planning (4D), site analysis, design reviews, 3D visualization, 3D coordination, site utilization planning, construction system design, digital fabrication, 3D control planning and record modeling.

Provide point of contact for construction team members on VDC processes and reports during all phases of construction

Document work process as it relates to improving and/or changing current company process standards

Other duties as assigned

Assist in training on VDC processes

All integrated construction team members should be active participants in Mortenson’s IDAT (Integrated Delivery Advancement Team) community of practice- sharing knowledge

Daily work planning

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Completion of intermediate level of BIM/VDC software training

Must have strong AutoCAD experience.

Detail orientation sufficient to organize and handle multiple project tasks at a time

Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices

Microsoft Office, project and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level

Positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills

Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies effectively

Strong communication, teamwork orientation, initiative, problem-solving, and leadership skills

Open to change based on diverse input and feedback

Demonstrate competency with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Synchro 4D, Trimble SketchUp, and Bluebeam Revu

Proficiency with Autodesk BIM 360 Field and Glue, 3DS Max, Civil 3D, Point Layout, Faro Scene, Google Earth Pro, and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)

Familiarity with the following workflows and solutions is helpful, but not required; game engine technologies (Unity, Unreal, Lumion 3D), Parametric Analysis solutions (Dynamo, Grasshopper, Solibri), basic key frame animation, 2D/3D rendering capabilities, 2D/3D post production capabilities

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field

Minimum one year of related experience

Current driver’s license
