  • Identify gaps and opportunities within the product and subsequently propose data-informed product changes or enhancements.

  • Develop new analyses, experiments and data-driven tools to harness business opportunities and share them with King’s data science community.

Experimentation

  • Work closely with game designers and the product team to scope and design tests, translating business needs to technical and AB test requirements (including correct implementation and event tracking).

  • Design, implement, and analyse A/B tests to evaluate the impact of changes to the product, features, or user experience, making recommendations based on test outcomes.

  • Monitor the performance of experiments and provide insights to optimise product features.

Documentation and knowledge sharing

  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders across Soda.

  • Document analytical processes, findings, and recommendations, ensuring knowledge is shared and accessible within the team and Soda.

  • Champion data literacy within the cross-functional game team.

Desired requirements

  • Hands-on experience with data science in a product context.

  • Demonstrable ability to extract, manipulate, and interpret large datasets, identifying trends, and making data-driven recommendations. This includes understanding key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to product success.

  • Experience working with data using SQL and creating sophisticated queries.

  • Practical experience with an analytical programming language such as R or Python for data manipulation.

  • Strong understanding of statistical techniques such as hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and Bayesian data analysis.

  • Adept in visualisation tools with experience in information visualisation and presentation.

  • Ability to clearly articulate insights and recommendations to stakeholders, including those without a technical background. This includes excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with cloud-based big data solutions such as Redshift, BigQuery.

Bonus skills

  • Previous game industry experience

  • Previous experience working with Looker

  • Experience in behavioural psychology/economics/game theory and experimental design

  • Advanced machine learning
