Job Description

The Houdini Pipeline Developer collaborates with Pipeline Leads to build a Houdini pipeline using USD and Solaris. They create intuitive workflows that can be quickly adopted by users of differing skill levels and operate efficiently on complex scenes. Key responsibilities include solving complex problems, writing high-quality Python code, communicating with artists, and contributing to technical briefs and user documentation. They should be passionate about Houdini, have excellent communication skills, and be comfortable with Git and unit testing. Experience with OpenUSD/ Solaris and PDG/TOPs is a plus.
Must have:
  • Solve Houdini pipeline workflow problems
  • Write high-quality Python code
  • Communicate with artists
  • 8+ years of Houdini pipeline coding experience
Good to have:
  • Hands-on experience with OpenUSD / Solaris
  • Experience with PDG / TOPs
  • Background as an FX artist using Houdini

Job Details

The Houdini Pipeline Developer collaborates with Pipeline Leads to build a Houdini pipeline that spans lookdev, lighting, CFX, and FX, using USD and Solaris as a backbone. They leverage their production experience to create intuitive and self-documenting workflows that can be quickly adopted by users of differing skill levels, and which can operate efficiently on scenes of extreme scale and complexity.





Key Responsibilities
  • Solve complex problems in the domain of Houdini pipeline workflows
  • Write high quality Python code that is easy to maintain and is well-tested 
  • Communicate with artists to identify areas of inefficiency and help gather their requirements
  • Contribute to technical briefs and user documentation


Qualifications
  • Passion for staying on top of latest features in Houdini
  • 8+ years experience writing Houdini pipeline code using python
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated talent for designing intuitive, artist-friendly workflows without sacrificing functionality
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming patterns
  • Comfortable with git and unit testing
  • Desire to probe and understand the inner workings of complex systems
  • Background as an FX artist using Houdini in production preferred
  • Hands-on experience with OpenUSD / Solaris a plus
  • Experience with PDG / TOPs preferred

  • Houdini 파이프라인 워크플로우 영역에서 생기는 복잡한 문제 해결
  • 유지, 보수가 쉽고 검증된 높은 퀄리티의  Python 코드 작성
  • 아티스트와 소통하여 비 효율적인 부분을 파악하고 요구사항을 수집
  • 기술 보고서와 사용자 문서 작성에 참여


자격
  • 최신 Houdini를 지속으로 배우고 탐구하려는 의지
  • 8년 이상의 Python을 사용한 Houdini  파이프라인 코드작성 경력
  • 뛰어난 문서 작성 및 커뮤니케이션 능력
  • 기능성을 유지하면서도 직관적이고 아티스트 친화적인 워크플로우를 설계할수 있는 역량
  • 객체 지향 프로그래밍 패턴에 대한 이해
  • Git 와 단위 테스트에 익숙하신 분
  • 복잡한 시스템의 내부 구조에 대한 탐구와 이해에 열정이 있으신 분
  • FX아티스트로서 프로덕션에서 하우디 사용 경험이 있는 분 우대 
  • OpenUSD/ Solaris에 대한 실무 경험 우대
  • PDG/TOPs 경험 우대
