Tesla seeks a Sr. Homologation Engineer to support homologation activities for new models and ongoing safety/compliance. Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Homologation engineer to join the Homologation Team. The Sr. Homologation engineer is responsible for supporting and performing homologation activities for new models introduction as well as on-going safety and compliance activities. The scope will include ensuring the functional groups are meeting requirements to support certification and compliance. This role requires clear understanding of required government procedures, vehicle certification requirements and management of testing and paperwork to support certification. This position is under the APAC homologation team reports to the team leader. 
What You’ll Do

Responsibilities 

The successful candidate for this position must have a technical background with regulatory requirements and demonstrated experience in vehicle homologation field with a strong background in automotive related operations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are an absolute requirement to coordinate and influence activities within and outside of Tesla. 

  • Use prescribed and innovative methods, work with limited guidance 

  • Participate as a team member and actively contribute towards team goals 

  • Carry out partially defined and moderately complex tasks 

  • Demonstrate good understanding and apply knowledge of an engineering discipline 

  • Gather, understand, and work for regulations, guidance, and advisories required for certification and compliance of vehicles 

  • Make an application and submit it to obtain a certificate from NTSEL/MLIT 

  • Work with US and CN based Tesla engineers to create required documentation for testing and compliance  

  • Assure vehicle compliance by maintaining and revising certificate information to Government Departments 

  • Work with US and CN team to accomplish homologation and safety related tasks 

  • Support requests for certification information, certificates 

What You’ll Bring

Requirements 

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Electronic or Mechanical) 

  • A minimum of 5 years of automotive experience with at least 3 recent years in a direct certification role. Import vehicle homologation and/or Electric vehicle certification experience is strongly preferred  

  • Understanding the vehicle regulation and technical inspection 

  • Demonstrated experience working with various government bodies  

  • Established network of contacts in homologation test labs, regulatory agents, and regulatory body  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in  English 

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history
