The Technical Game Designer will be working on the game logic for a third-person beat'em'up game made with Unreal Engine 5. Responsibilities include actively participating in the development and improvement of the game's combat system, integrating and fine-tuning combat animations, player abilities, opponent behavior, etc. Collaborating with game designers to refine the gameplay experience, prototyping new game features, and working with UE5 systems such as Blueprints and the Gameplay Ability System are also key aspects of this role. The game features a deep storyline, a unique setting, cutscenes, intriguing enemies, memorable bosses, character progression, and breathtaking battles with a wide array of firearms.
Must have:
  • Experience with UE5/UE4, particularly with Blueprints, for 2 years or more.
  • Ability to independently debug and identify issues to be addressed and fixed.
  • Strong teamwork skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
Good to have:
  • Portfolio showcasing personal game projects or demos of any complexity.

Job Details

SPINE is made with Unreal Engine 5 and centered around cinematic gun-fu shootouts. It’s a third-person beat’em’up with a full set of PC gaming features, including a deep storyline, a unique setting, cutscenes, intriguing enemies, memorable bosses, character progression, and, most importantly, breathtaking battles with a wide array of firearms.

 

This project represents a new ambitious challenge for the company as it marks our first game for both PC and consoles.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on the game logic as part of the technical design team.
  • Actively participate in the development and improvement of the game's combat system, integrate and fine-tune combat animations, player abilities, opponent behavior, etc.
  • Collaborate with the team's game designers to fine-tune and polish the gameplay experience, including opponent and boss behavior, animation timing, attacks, and more.
  • Prototype new game features.
  • Work with UE5 systems related to gameplay logic and animation, such as Blueprints and the Gameplay Ability System.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience working with UE5/UE4, particularly with Blueprints, for 2 years or more.
  • Ability to independently debug and identify issues to be addressed and fixed by project programmers.
  • Strong teamwork skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Fluent communication in Russian.

Would be a plus:

  • Portfolio showcasing personal game projects or demos of any complexity.
