Job Description

As a Senior 3D Creative Designer at Haptic, you will be responsible for leading creative innovation, crafting engaging concepts (including interactive mini-games), streamlining workflows, and embracing AI-generated solutions. You will design stunning visual elements, provide 3D design support, solve technical challenges, optimize client assets, and estimate project costs. The role requires expertise in 3D design software (Blender, Cinema 4D, Maya), game engines (Unreal Engine, Unity), and various other digital content creation tools. You will collaborate with designers, strategists, and technologists to create high-impact, performance-driven marketing materials for mobile game clients.

Responsibilities and Requirements

As the studio’s leading 3D Creative Technologist, you'll blend imaginative storytelling with cutting-edge technology to revolutionise performance-driven creatives. Guided by our client’s Head of Creatives, you'll shape the future of ad experiences by crafting interactive and immersive content that captivates and converts audiences.

As a key innovator, you'll leverage emerging tech trends to push the boundaries of digital advertising, using your expertise in multimedia design and creative problem-solving to develop compelling ad mechanics that deliver measurable results.

In this cross-disciplinary role, you'll seamlessly merge art and science, collaborating with a passionate team of designers, strategists, and technologists to bring visionary ideas to life. Your work will break new ground, amplify brand messages, and drive user acquisition for our clients.

  • Lead Creative Innovation: Drive the exploration and integration of the latest technologies into our ad campaigns, setting new industry standards.
  • Craft Engaging Concepts: Develop and refine captivating creative concepts, including interactive "mini-game" prototypes that keep our audience hooked.
  • Streamline Workflows: Proactively research and implement tools to enhance and simplify our creative and production processes.
  • Embrace AI: Evaluate and adopt AI-generated creative solutions to elevate our design capabilities and efficiency.
  • Design with Precision: Regularly create stunning visual elements such as intros and end cards, anticipating and exceeding client expectations.
  • 3D Design Support: Provide top-notch 3D design support and technical assistance to our talented creative team.
  • Solve Technical Challenges: Tackle and resolve technical issues with 2D and 3D software, ensuring smooth operations for our designers, producers, and clients.
  • Optimise Client Assets: Manage and fine-tune client assets to ensure they are production-ready.
  • Enhance Resources: Contribute to developing designer resources with valuable documentation and guidelines.
  • Estimate Costs: Accurately estimate costs for creative projects, aiding the PR team in delivering precise quotes.
  • Innovate Revenue-Driving Mechanics: Experiment with and implement new 2D and 3D mechanics to boost revenue generation.
  • Support Client Pitches: Bring your creative insights and technical expertise to client pitches, supporting the PR team with compelling presentations.

  • Prototyping and Tool Development: Demonstrable experience in prototyping and developing tools to enhance creative workflows.

    • Advanced Software: Proficiency in Houdini, Nuke
    • Render Engines: Familiarity with render engines such as Redshift, Vray, Eevee, and Octane
    • 2D and 3D Animation Tools: Knowledge of tools like Toon Boom Harmony, Spine, Affinity Designer
    • Other Tools: Experience with 3ds Max, JavaScript game engines (Phaser, Three.js), SparkAR
    • 3D Scene Assembly and Asset Development: In-depth understanding of processes including layout, lighting, compositing, colour grading, modelling, texturing, and rigging.
    • Simulation Techniques: Knowledge of simulation techniques for 3D (rigid body, soft body, liquid, pyro) and 2D (physics, volume, particles) applications.

About You

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Design, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience in creative technology roles.
  • Industry Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a creative technologist, ideally within the gaming and digital advertising sectors.
  • Impressive Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in digital marketing, particularly on mobile ad platforms and performance marketing strategies.
  • Creative Collaboration: Proven ability to generate, communicate, and implement ideas within a collaborative team setting.
  • Design Mastery: Deep understanding of design principles and how they contribute to creating compelling user experiences.
  • Exceptional Communication: Outstanding communication skills, capable of clearly presenting ideas and engaging in constructive discussions with peers and clients.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a sharp eye for detail and effective prioritisation skills.
  • Innovative Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities, with a knack for tackling complex design challenges and delivering out-of-the-box solutions.
  • Organisational Excellence: Highly organised and detail-oriented, committed to producing high-quality work.
  • Team Collaboration: A collaborative spirit, ready to share your expertise and support team members in a dynamic work environment.
