Job Description:
As a 2D Artist at BattleBucks, you will be responsible for creating visually compelling 2D assets that bring our games to life. You will work closely with game designers, animators, and other artists to develop characters, environments, UI elements, and other visual assets that align with the artistic vision of our games.
Key Responsibilities:
- Concept Art: Develop concept art for characters, environments, props, and other game elements.
- Character Design: Create and refine 2D character designs, ensuring they are visually appealing and aligned with the game's style.
- Environmental Design: Design and illustrate game environments, including backgrounds, landscapes, and interactive elements.
- UI/UX Design: Collaborate with the design team to create intuitive and visually appealing user interface elements and icons.
- Asset Production: Produce high-quality 2D assets for use in the game, including sprites, textures, and animations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with game designers, animators, and other artists to ensure visual consistency and quality across the game.
- Feedback: Participate in regular team reviews and provide constructive feedback on artwork to ensure the highest quality.
- Adaptation: Adapt and refine existing art styles and create new visual styles as required by the project.
- Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a 2D artist in the game industry or a related field.
- Portfolio: Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of 2D artwork, including character designs, environment art, and UI/UX elements.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in industry-standard software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and other digital painting tools.
- Artistic Skills: Strong drawing, painting, and illustration skills with a keen eye for detail and color theory.
- Animation: Basic knowledge of 2D animation techniques and experience creating sprite animations is a plus.
- Creativity: Ability to create original artwork and contribute to the overall artistic direction of the game.
- Collaboration: Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to take feedback and iterate on designs.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Game Engine Experience: Familiarity with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Style Versatility: Ability to work in various art styles, from cartoonish to realistic.
- Passion for Gaming: A strong passion for video games and an understanding of game design principles.
