Corporate Accountant

 Position Summary: 

Trek is looking for a technically strong, analytical, self-motivated, detail focused individual to fill a key seat on our growing Finance team.  The Corporate Accountant will report directly to the Global Accounting Manager located in Waterloo, WI.  

This position will require you to engage & partner with a variety of teams to drive change within our finance operation. This is a huge opportunity to learn & develop at a great company. Candidate should have a high level of curiosity & be hungry to get their hands into the details. 

Responsibilities: 

• Preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis for cash, inventory, and liability accounts as part of the month-end close process. 

• Assist with maintaining the lease accounting software. generating monthly lease journal entries, and related reporting. 

• Perform daily tasks to ensure accurate and timely accounting for our direct retail store operation. 

• Identify store transactional errors and “own the problem through resolution” for our stores. 

• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of global finance and general ledger reporting structure. 

• Assist in the fulfillment of external audit requests. 

• Communicate system or process improvement opportunities to enhance internal controls. 

• Team-driven, willingness to help others in order to deliver month-end close by the deadline. 

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting 

• 1+ year(s) Accounting or Finance experience preferred

• CPA preferred; not required 

• Familiarity with US GAAP and multi-currency transactions preferred 

• Exhibit competence in all aspects of general ledger accounting 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills 

• Proficient in Excel
